[Three “Debuts”] Over 100 “Premium Goods” from “Macao Ideas” Now Available in Local Residential Area and Major Supermarket, Bridging Online and Offline Sales Channels

Hosted by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), the “Macao Premium Goods” Exhibition and Sales Campaign by Macao Ideas x Grand Mart will last for eight consecutive days starting today (20), and ten Macao Ideas exhibitors will present more than 100 Macao products. The campaign also highlights three “debuts”: the debut of Macao premium goods in a large supermarket at the local residential area, the debut at the supermarket’s online takeaway platform, and the debut of sales campaign at both offline and online stores.


Local MICE Industry Players Gratified by the Outcomes of Participating in the 2025 UFI Asia Pacific Conference The First Chinese UFI Venue Management Programme in the Greater Bay Area Is Introduced in Macao

To aid MICE industry in the Greater Bay Area in expanding the international markets, the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) collaborated with industry players to organise a delegation of over 50 representatives from the Greater Bay Area to participate in the “2025 UFI Asia Pacific Conference” held in Melbourne, Australia, to showcase the MICE strengths of the Greater Bay Area.


Information on School Admissions for Academic Year 2025/2026

Applications for admission of new students to schools in the academic year 2025/2026 will be open on 1 March 2025. Students who seek enrolment starting in September 2025 and fulfil the conditions for pursuing secondary, primary and pre-primary (non-first-time enrolment) education in Macao, as well as their parents, may visit the zone designated ‘A Guide to School Admission Information’ on the website of the Education and Youth Development Bureau, and access admission information such as grade levels open for admission and links to school websites and application forms. Applicants are advised to read in detail the admission regulations of schools, prepare well the necessary information and submit applications in the way and within the application period specified by the schools in which they intend to enrol.


Business climate survey on restaurants & similar establishments and retail trade for December 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the interviewed restaurants & similar establishments and retailers recorded month-on-month growth in receipts in December 2024 on account of the Christmas holidays. Receipts of the interviewed restaurants & similar establishments grew by 5.7% month-on-month, with receipts of Western Restaurants, Japanese & Korean Restaurants and Chinese Restaurants rising by 12.4%, 8.8% and 7% respectively. Besides, sales of the interviewed retailers increased by 7.9% month-on-month in December; retailers of Motor Vehicles, Watches, Clocks & Jewellery, Adults’ Clothing and Cosmetics & Sanitary Articles posted respective sales growth of 18.6%, 16.4%, 15.8% and 13.6%.


Visitor arrivals for January 2025

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals totalled 3,646,561 in January 2025, an increase of 27.4% year-on-year. Same-day visitors (2,155,279) and overnight visitors (1,491,282) rose by 45.6% and 7.9% year-on-year respectively. Meanwhile, the average length of stay of visitors (1.0 day) shortened by 0.2 day year-on-year in January, due to the growth in the proportion of same-day visitors in the total number of arrivals; the duration of stay for same-day visitors (0.3 day) went up by 0.1 day while that for overnight visitors (2.2 days) remained unchanged.




UM Faculty of Health Sciences holds camp for students in Principals’ Recommended Admission Scheme

The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the University of Macau (UM) held a camp for nine Form Six students who will be enrolled in FHS undergraduate programmes in the 2025/2026 academic year through the Principal’s Recommended Admission Scheme. The two-day, one-night camp allowed the students to experience UM’s rich academic atmosphere and vibrant campus life in advance, while gaining insight into the latest developments and future learning directions in the field of health sciences.
