Exhibition “The Blessed Land – Belief and Customs of Tou Tei in Macao” opens next Week
For the occasion of the Spring Festival, the Macao Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will present the thematic exhibition “The Blessed Land – Belief and Customs of Tou Tei in Macao” from 19 January 2023, showing the public this folk belief and customs with distinctive characteristics of traditional Chinese culture.

UM scholar elected fellow of Royal Society of Biology
Chen Xiuping, professor in the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) of the University of Macau (UM), has been elected fellow of the Royal Society of Biology for his distinguished contributions to the field of biomedical sciences. The achievement of fellow status of Prof Chen is also testament to the leading role of the ICMS in driving innovations and generating impactful research results recognised by the international academia.

Local View Power 2023: Call for Proposals
In order to promote the development of cinematography and encourage Macao independent filmmakers to create more local films, the call for proposals for the programme “Local View Power”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) is open from today to 8 March. Cultural Affairs Bureau extends “Visiting the Ruins of St. Paul’s in Space and Time” – Exhibition of Virtual Reality at the Ruins of St. Paul’s and offers additional sessions
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the “Visiting the Ruins of St. Paul’s in Space and Time” – Exhibition of Virtual Reality at the Ruins of St. Paul’s has received an overwhelming response since its launch. In appreciation of the public’s support, the organiser will extend the first phase of the exhibition and offers additional sessions, allowing more members of the public to experience the magnificent historical features of the Former Mater Dei Church. The exhibition will be extended to 28 February, and the exploration will be adjusted to three sessions per hour from 16 January. Each session will open to 10 participants.

Since the new border measure has lifted the requirement for the COVID nucleic acid test from 8 January onwards, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has been dedicating all-rounded efforts to brand the destination with a range of special travel offers and gearing up for different mega events to welcome visitors for Chinese New Year. Visitor arrivals have been steadily increasing in recent days, to reach 40,000 this Thursday (12 January), the first single-day record that has exceeded 40,000 this year. The visitor figures are expected to keep rising with the advent of Chinese New Year festivities.
