Beware of fraudulent calls purportedly from Mainland China’s Police, Public Prosecutions Office or the Court
Members of the public informed the Judiciary Police regarding suspected fraudulent calls from an alleged customer service staff of a mobile phone messaging software, who spoke in Putonghua, claiming that their mobile phone account was involved in spreading fake information about the pandemic and the call was transferred to an alleged staff of Mainland China’s Police. The staff told them that their bank account would be frozen as they were involved in a financial crime. They were also told that the prosecutor had issued an arrest warrant and they were required to transfer their money to a designated "security account" in order to be granted bail pending trial. Call recipients immediately hung up on the caller on suspicion of the call’s fraudulent nature and reported the incident to the Judiciary Police.

Employment survey for December 2021-February 2022
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that both the general unemployment rate (3.3%) and the unemployment rate of local residents (4.3%) for December 2021-February 2022 increased by 0.1 percentage point from the previous period (November 2021-January 2022). Meanwhile, the underemployment rate dropped by 0.3 percentage points to 2.9%.

Macao Museum’s exhibition “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Export of Silk Products in the Ming and Qing Dynasties” extends until 12 June
Jointly organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province, the Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of the HK SAR and the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, and presented by the Guangdong Museum, the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Macao Museum, the exhibition “A Tale of Three Cities: Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Export of Silk Products in the Ming and Qing Dynasties” has attracted over 30,000 visitors since its opening in late November last year. The exhibition will be extended to 12 June in order to allow more visitors to appreciate the museum collections of the three cities and experience the richness and diversity of cultural and museum resources.

IFTM partners again with UNWTO to offer tourism-related postgraduate courses
IFTM is collaborating with the UNWTO Academy – the education arm of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) – for a second consecutive year, to offer a series of postgraduate courses in Macao. The Institute was the pioneer in offering UNWTO Academy courses in Asia. They are available to members of the public that have already attained at least a bachelor’s degree from any appropriate institute, as well as for IFTM postgraduate students enrolled in selected programmes.

UM’s online Career and Internship Fair provides over 3,000 job vacancies
The University of Macau (UM) kicked off its online Career and Internship Fair. Approximately 110 companies and organisations participated in this year’s fair, providing over 3,000 job vacancies. To assist graduates in finding a job, the university has also organised 25 related events, including recruitment talks, career preparation seminars, as well as career exploration and training workshops. In addition, the university created a dedicated website to provide online career guidance and employment information for students.

Tickets refund for the concerts “Charming Romance” and “Enchanting Tunes from the Screen 3”
Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and co-organized by the Macao Orchestra Company, Limited, the concerts “Charming Romance” and “Enchanting Tunes from the Screen 3”, originally scheduled for 19 March, were cancelled due to the impact of the pandemic. The organizer has arranged refund for those who have purchased tickets for the concerts. Spectators with tickets may contact the Macau Ticketing Network for refund procedures from today until 24 April at different times.
