Reissue of “Residence Certificate”


How to Apply

Time of application: Persons who are granted a “Residence Certificate” by the Residence and Stay Affairs Department may apply for reissue of the document if it is lost, damaged or stolen before its expiry (valid for 90 days).

Application procedures and documents required

  1. Application Approach
    1. The interested person or his/her legal representative applies to the respective Subdivision during office hours;
    2. In case of loss or theft, the interested person should first report the case to the police and then apply for reissue with the “Report Testimonial” issued by the Public Security Police Force or the “Complaint Notification” issued by the Judiciary Police;
    3. The legal representative should submit the following:
      1. A certified letter of authorization;
      2. A copy of his/her valid identification document.
  2. Documents Must be Presented: The original should be exhibited for authentication if a copy is submitted.
  3. Necessary Documents
    1. An application letter with reasonable justification;
      [Note: The “application letter” template is available at the respective Subdivision and the website of the Public Security Police Force.]
    2. “Report Testimonial” or “Complaint Notification” issued at a police department (in case of loss or theft);
    3. Copy of the interested person’s “P.R.C. Permit for Travelling to Hong Kong and Macao” or valid passport / travel document (bio data page only) or identification document used for entry to and departure from Macao.
  4. Form: Declaration/Application Letter (DARP/DARP M-7)
  5. Attachment: Sample of “Residence Certificate”

(Closed on Sat, Sun and Macao government holidays)

Processing Time (excluding time of waiting in a queue and postage time for documents sent by mail)

By 16:00 of the next working day <Performance Pledge>
(From the moment when the service unit received and confirmed that all the required documents had been correctly prepared.)


Remark / Requirements

Interested persons under 18 years old should have their applications tendered by the parent or guardian, who is required to submit a copy of his/her identification document. The guardian should also submit a copy of the proof of relationship with the interested person.
