Application procedures and documents required:
Applicants can apply for product classification through the following methods:
- Apply online: Log in to “Business and Associations Platform” (Path → Services → Departments → Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau → Product Classification Service (in the field of pharmaceutical supervision) → Classification Application) to apply for product classification.
- Apply In-person:
- A duly completed “Application Form for Product Classification” (Click here to use the online application service);
- For applications involving more than 1 product, the applicant may submit a completed “Supplementary Sheet to Application Form for Product Classification”;
- Original package, label and package insert of the product (If the product itself lacks any of the above elements, the applicant should state so with justification);
- Other documentation, e.g. detailed ingredients.
- A duly completed “Application Form for Product Classification” (Click here to use the online application service);
Note:
- All content and information contained on the final sales package should be consistent with the information submitted.
- Applicants can use the classification evaluation system on “Business and Associations Platform” to conduct a preliminary assessment of the product’s classification (Path: Log in to “Business and Associations Platform” → Services → Departments → Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau → Product Classification Service (in the field of pharmaceutical supervision) → Classification Evaluation).

The notification of result of classification will be issued within 18 working days upon receipt of all required documents. (Performance pledge)
