“Macao Government News” is a mobile device application developed by the Macao Government Information Bureau that provides latest official information regarding public policies, government news and photographs. This app is available in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Portuguese and English. In its initial launch, the app offers six sections: News, Gallery, Videos, News Features, Hot News and Hot News Photos. Under the News section, there are 21 catergories available for users to subscribe to. The app’s sharing function enables users to quickly and conveniently share information via email, Weibo, WeChat, Facebook or Twitter.

“IAM connect” mobile application is created by the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) of the Government of Macao Special Administrative Region. It mainly offers case report, electronic municipal services, Friends of IAM electronic membership cards, push notification service and other functions. The content includes: 1. Case report: The public may give their opinions through the application. The dedicated department receives and distributes the cases immediately. Enquiries about the progress or follow-up results of cases can be made via the application; 2. Electronic municipal services: The electronic services of IAM are centralised, including guided tour service, guides on administrative formalities of municipal services, ticket-taking and bookings for IAM services, etc.; 3. Friends of IAM electronic membership card: Friends of IAM members can bind their membership cards in the application and use the facilities in activity centres with the electronic membership cards; 4. Push notification service: Users can receive the latest information about IAM.

The mobile app “Macau Tax” is produced by the Financial Services Bureau of the Macau SAR Government. The mobile app of the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), which supports traditional and simplified Chinese, as well as Portuguese and English, provides users with more convenient and faster access to comprehensive statistical services. Its main functions include: Home Page — Shows the latest principal statistical indicators; Latest News – Provides the latest statistics through push notifications; Statistical Publications – Provides past issues of statistical publications; Statistics Databases – Provides time-series statistical data, create statistical tables and charts instantly; Activate, Bind and Complete Questionnaires — Complete online surveys via QR code; Statistics Release Calendar – Provides release calendar for the current month and the next three months; Online Customer Service — Provides guidance to data users on obtaining published official statistics from the DSEC website.

The “Macao Price Information Platform” consists of four main functions: “Supermarket Price Information Platform”, “Market Price Information Platform”, “Fuel Price Information Platform” and “Certified Shop”. Consumers may check the latest price information on the Platform including price data of over 100 products collected from 44 local supermarkets, daily market price and daily average price of fresh food delivered by Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM), as well as the latest price info on fuel products. Consumers may also check the analyzed data curated by the Council via “Smart Choice”, “Rankings of products with price differences of over 50%” and “Rankings for Supermarkets with Lowest Prices”. Moreover, consumers can get easy access to the location and contact details of over 1,000 “Certified Shops” on the Platform’s “Certified Shop” area.

For the manifestation of good business practices of “Adherents”, a mechanism termed “Certified Shop” was established in 2001. “Adherents” with good business record, abide by laws and “Code of Practice” (if applicable) in the past year with a passing grade in the Council’s annual assessment will be awarded the “Certified Shop” emblem for the next year. For consumers’ easy access to real-time prices of various kinds of fuel in Macao as well as the latest discount information, the “Macao Fuel Prices Information Platform” app developed by Macao SAR Government Consumer Council includes two separate functions:   Petrol calculator Includes prices of all fuel products available at petrol stations in Macao and the latest information on discounts. After calculation, consumers will be able to decide which station to go, and in what kind of payment they should use in order to get petrol at the lowest price.   Household LPG calculator Includes prices of all kinds of household LPG available at all Macao retailers and the latest information on discounts. For different sectors and the public to access the latest information and the Online services of the Correctional Services Bureau conveniently, the “Correctional Services Bureau Mobile Application” has launched. The official AR and VR guided tour application of Macao Museum offers you an opportunity to visit the museum in a virtual environment, by means of the technology of AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality).   Functions: VR (Virtual Reality): Presents the interior of the three-floor museum and the fortress garden in 720-degree panoramic environment. Viewers can explore every corners of the building while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the fortress garden. (better viewed with VR eyeglasses) AR (Augmented Reality): Viewers can appreciate the selected exhibits by scanning the images on the pamphlet (free download available) and use the finger touch function to watch the exhibits in 720-degree rotation. The Sports Bureau has developed a mobile application as an assisting tool of the website for the public to get the up-to-date sports information more conveniently. It is beneficial for electronic service platform to be more comprehensive and diversified. The Chinese-Portuguese-English Machine Translation Laboratory of Macao Polytechnic University developed Diz lá!, a language learning application especially aimed at Chinese language speakers who want to learn Portuguese anytime, anywhere and at their own pace. These are the app’s main features: Word of the day Learn a new Portuguese language word everyday! The choice of words is especially conceived for learners who already have an intermediate level of Portuguese and wish to enrich their vocabulary. Each word is accompanied by its definition, a sample sentence and a picture that helps to convey its meaning, as well as a recording allowing users to listen to its correct pronunciation. Users can also activate the Chinese translation (simplified or traditional). Conjugator This function is useful for Portuguese language learners of any level and native speakers alike. It allows users to know the conjugated form of over 15,000 Portuguese verbs in all tenses and modes. It provides functions such as university information, course information, internal applications, alumni related information and IEPD membership, etc. With this app, students can use a great variety of optimized online services anytime and anywhere, which makes campus life easy and convenient. 【The main functions】 1. Choose identity to login and to switch: Degree programmes, alumni and IEPD Membership. 2. Degree programmes – Home page: Students can receive push notifications of UTM’s latest news, view university announcements and access other general functions, etc. 3. “Macao Maritime Info” is an application, developed by the Marine and Water Bureau of the Macao SAR, which aims to provide maritime information for citizens and tourists via mobile devices. Its main features include: • Real time sailings – provide information on real time arriving and departing sailings at all ferry terminals; • Sailing schedule – provide regular sailing schedules of all ferry routes; •Real time sea conditions – provide camera views showing real time sea conditions in different areas; • Tides – provide real time tidal heights and allow users to search for predicted tidal heights; •Notice to mariners – provide the latest navigation information for vessels; • Services at terminals – provide information on shops, ticket office, restaurants and services available in the terminals.

A new version of Macao Post Mobile App is launched with the following convenient and practical functions: Track and Trace – trace the latest delivery status of your mail items; Price Calculator – calculate the postage of different postal services; Customs Declaration – fill in the information of customs declaration in advance; Branch Locations – provides the nearest post office according to the required service; Latest News – acquire the latest news of CTT postal service, such as philately and EMS service. * Branch Locations’ function requires the app to access your actual location.

Secure Electronic Postal Box (SEPBox), is a free electronic postal box application provided by Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (hereinafter CTT). After having made the registration, user will be offered a free SEPBox which enables to receive, electronically and securely, government notifications, Postal Registered electronic Mail and electronic bills, avoiding junk mail and electronic virus. Reminders are automatically defined together with electronic deliveries, assuring that important dates and activities are not forgotten.

“Mobile One time password” abbreviated as “MOTP”, it is developed for improving the security and convenience of using digital certificate issued by Macao Post and Telecommunications eSignTrust Certification Services. Traditionally, users are required to provide smart card and password when digital signing. After applied MOTP service, users input email registered in e-certificate, password and passcode generated by this MTOP apps instead.(*Required application support).

The “FreeWiFi.MO” mobile app let citizens and visitors to use the free Wi-Fi service easily in Macao. With this app, users can find the nearest and nearby free Wi-Fi service locations of “FreeWiFi.MO” based on their current location, or browse the information of those free Wi-Fi service locations. The “Information Center of DSCC” is a mobile application (APP) launched by the Cartography and Cadastre Bureau (DSCC). The application is a comprehensive platform of DSCC that offers online process inquiry service and the latest geographic statistics, as well as built-in geographic information systems links including “Macao Online Map”, “Cadastral Information Website”, “Macau GeoGuide”, “GeoGuide for Emergency”, “Macao 3D Map” and “The Walking Routes Map” etc., providing services and the geographic information of Macao to the public in a convenient way.

“Macau GeoGuide” is a mobile map application published by the Cartography and Cadastre Bureau, provides a full range of geographic information services for citizens and tourists. It uses professional mapping technology, combined with the advantages of mobile platform and multi-touch, so that users can obtain the latest geographic information anytime and anywhere, bringing brand new use experience to the users. When using outdoor, users can easily locate the necessary geographic information around, such as health care, food, housing, transportation, education and entertainment, and use the point to point route planning function to find an appropriate travel route.

In order to let the public obtain more geographic information for emergency via mobile phone, Cartography and Cadastre Bureau, under the support of Unitary Police Service, Meteorological and Geophysics Bureau, Environmental Protection Bureau, Marine and Water Bureau, Municipal Affairs Bureau, Education and Youth Development Bureau and Social Welfare Bureau, has launched the “GeoGuide for emergency” mobile map App. In addition to providing important information such as the areas may be affected during different “Storm Surge” warning levels, zones may be affected by Power Suspension Measures, real-time water level monitoring information, real-time severe weather warnings information and location of each Emergency Refuge Centre, the App also includes the function of walking route planning to the nearest Emergency Refuge Centre in advance.
