Anti-epidemic measures instituting by the Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT)

In order to cooperate with the overall deployment of the Macao SAR Government’s anti-epidemic work; and to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus, the FDCT releases the following convenience measures on any applications and reports submission related to the Science Research projects, the Science Popularization projects and the Science and Technology Award, effective from 1st February, 2020.

1. For Science Research and Science Popularization Projects

1.1 Registered entities can submit applications on the FDCT online funding application system within the application period, paper application materials are allowed for later submission upon further notice by the FDCT.

1.2 Unregistered entities who cannot apply through the FDCT online funding application system, are allowed to send your funding request and proposal to our email (saf@fdct.gov.mo) within the application period. The FDCT will take the received date as the submission date, and paper application materials will be requested upon further notice by the FDCT.

1.3 Any due annual reports or final reports of the projects, e-copies can be first sent to the email mentioned above. The FDCT will take the received date as the submission date. All the paper documents of the reports will be requested upon further notice by the FDCT.

1.4 Any requests for project extension or modification, please download the ‘Application Form for the Modification of Science Research Project / Promotion of Science Project’ from our website (www.fdct.gov.mo), complete and send to the email mentioned above.  You are entitled to be postponed for no longer than 90 days thereafter.

1.5 For other adjustments or inquiries of the funded projects due to the epidemic situation, please feel free to email (saf@fdct.gov.mo) or contact 853 85998193 / 28788777 during office hours for assistance.

2. For the Science and Technology Award Application

2.1 Reception of paper application documents of The 2020 Macao Science and Technology Award will be postponed until further notice by the FDCT.

2.2 For other inquiries of the Macao Science and Technology Award, please feel free to email (sedc@fdct.gov.mo) or contact 853 85998193 / 28788777 during office hours for assistance.

Other services of FDCT remain unchanged, relevant information please kindly refer to the notice updated timely on FDCT website (http:// www.fdct.gov.mo)


Reopen of the Maritime Museum

The Maritime Museum, which was temporarily closed to the public due to the impact of a typhoon earlier, reopens on September 26, 2018.


Special announcement: Identification Services Bureau will be closed on 17 September 2018 due to typhoon

Super Typhoon “Mangkhut” has caused great impact on Macao. In accordance with the “Despacho” of the Chief Executive on the exemption from work for the public administration, the Identification Services Bureau will be closed today (17 September 2018) and will resume normal operation tomorrow (18 September 2018).


Tourist Information Counters

All Tourist Information Counters of Macao Government Tourism Office operate as normal


Service Arrangement for Correctional Services Bureau on 17 September

The visiting service of Correctional Services Bureau’s Coloane Prison and Youth Correctional Institution will resume when Typhoon Signal No. 8 is cancelled. Public services including application and collection of the visiting permit and the certificate of imprisonment, appointments with social workers and services provided by the Correctional Services Bureau Service and Information Centre will be suspended on 17 September (Monday).


DST suspenderá os serviços de atendimento ao público amanhã (17 de Setembro)

Tendo em consideração o grave impacto do super tufão “Mangkhut” em Macau, de acordo com o despacho sobre o encerramento dos serviços públicos emitido pelo Chefe do Executivo, amanhã (17 de Setembro), a Direcção dos Serviços de Turismo (DST) suspenderá os serviços de atendimento ao público. Os balcões de Informações Turísticas da DST nos vários postos fronteiriços estarão todavia em funcionamento, de forma condicionada. A DST anunciará informações actualizadas com a maior brevidade possível.


UM to be closed tomorrow due to Typhoon Mangkhut

In accordance with the announcement of the Tertiary Education Services Office, all classes at the University of Macau will be cancelled tomorrow (17 September) to ensure the safety of the students during Typhoon Mangkhut. As approved by the chief executive of the Macao SAR, UM faculty and staff are exempt from work tomorrow for safety considerations.

UM has taken emergency measures against the typhoon to ensure the safety of all UM members and the smooth operation of the campus.


Maritime Museum temporarily closed

The Maritime Museum is temporarily closed until further notice due to the damage of facilities caused by Typhoon  “Mangkhut”. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

In accordance with the “Despacho” of the Chief Executive on the exemption from work for the public administration, the Identification Services Bureau will be closed tomorrow (17 September 2018) and will make further announcement as soon as possible.


Affected by the typhoon, please note that the Social Security Fund and its service points will be temporarily closed to the public on 17 September 2018 (Monday). For general enquiries, please visit the Social Security Fund’s website or call the 24-hour interactive voice response hotline at 28238238/28230230.
