Financial Support Programme for Participation in Exhibitions and Trade Fairs

About the Programme

The purpose of this Programme is to provide financial support to enterprisers and non-profit associations legally established in the Macao Special Administrative Region (hereinafter referred to as “Macao”) to participate in commercial and trade exhibitions, improving their external exchange and co-operation, publicity and business expansion via the exhibitions.

Targets and Eligibility for the Funding Programme

1.      Natural person or legal entity who is not a debtor to the Treasury of the Macao Special Administrative Region and plans to participate in exhibitions specified in the Programme as an exhibitor may apply for the financial support:

1.1.       Business proprietor legally established in Macao:

1.1.1.      The enterprise must have been registered with the Financial Services Bureau for tax purposes for at least one year and fulfilled its tax obligations.

1.1.2.      Fifty percent (50%) or more of the shares are held by Macao resident(s).

1.1.3.      Enterprises not meeting the requirements in sections 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 but certified to be companies of “Made in Macao”, “Macao Brand” or agents for products from Portuguese-speaking countries, may also be considered eligible to apply for the financial support on discretion.

1.1.4.      The business must be actually operating in Macao.

1.2.       Associations legally established in Macao, with the purposes of contributing to the appropriately diversified development of Macao’s economy or optimising the economic and social environment of Macao.

2.      Each enterprise or association and its related entity may submit a maximum of six applications per year, including a maximum of one application each for the expenses of producing printed materials and promotional videos.

Indications for the Application Results

The approved amount shall not be the total expenses of the event, so that the funding amount for each application shall not exceed 60% of the total expenses for the eligible category, and the upper cap of funding is as follows:

1.      Trade fair / online exhibition: the celling of the total subsidy for each application is MOP6,000.

2.      Professional exhibitions: the celling of the subsidy for each application is MOP60,000, in which the maximum amount for the production of promotional videos is MOP25,000.
