It is expected to be a new landmark and a new science popularisation venue in Macao that will attract large number of residents and visitors from all over the world. Apart from assisting on-site staff in guiding visitors and answering public enquiries, trained volunteers will also provide guided tours and exhibit interpretation services to the visitors. They will be invited from time to time to assist in organising and implementing science activities. Through providing front-line services to visitors, not only can the volunteers be directly involved in arousing public interest in science learning, but they can also gain experience in interacting with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. Complimentary tickets to the Exhibition Center and the Planetarium along with food coupons, travel allowance, and certain priority in enrolling courses, seminars and activities organised by the Center will be given in accordance with services provided in the sole objective to bring a rich and pleasant experience to enthusiastic volunteers. The “Macao Science Center Volunteer Service Scheme” is now open for application. All interested parties are welcome to join as the first batch of Macao science popularisation ambassadors. Details can be found from the website of the Center at www.msc.org.mo/volunteer. For enquiries, please send e-mails to volunteer@msc.org.mo.
