Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 2,726 new companies were incorporated in the first half of 2026, most of which were engaged in Wholesale & Retail Trade (995) and Business Services (764). Meanwhile, 545 companies were dissolved. The number of companies showed a net increase of 2,181.
Total value of registered capital of the new companies amounted to MOP390 million in the first half year. As regards origin of capital, the Chinese mainland and the Macao Special Administrative Region contributed MOP113 million (28.8% of total) and MOP248 million (63.5%) respectively. Capital from the Mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area amounted to MOP29 million, of which Zhuhai accounted for 69.3%. Besides, capital from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region totalled MOP20 million.
In terms of size of registered capital, there were 2,045 new companies (75.0% of total) registered with capital under MOP50,000, and the value of capital (MOP52 million) made up 13.4% of the total. Meanwhile, 39 new companies were registered with capital of MOP1 million or over, and the value of capital (MOP247 million) constituted 63.3% of the total.
