Mid-Autumn Festival Concert “A Full Moon Night at the Ruins of St. Paul’s 2026”
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) and coordinated by Macao Orchestra Company, Limited, the Macao Chinese Orchestra’s Mid-Autumn Festival concert “A Full Moon Night at the Ruins of St. Paul’s 2026” was held on 25 September, at 8pm and 9pm, at the Ruins of St. Paul’s. Under the baton of Resident Conductor Liao Yuan-Yu, the concert featured guest performances by popular singer Mike Tsang from the Greater Bay Area and Macao singer-songwriter Winifai. With the one of the most emblematic Macau World Heritage sites as scenery, the Macao Chinese Orchestra performed a series of classic works, drawing large crowds of residents and tourists to enjoy the music, adding a rich festive atmosphere to the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration.
As an annual signature event of the Macao Chinese Orchestra, the concert opened with the joyful classic Full Moon and Blooming Flowers, followed by the passionate and energetic Blaze, and the piece Macau Sam Assi, which showcase the integration of Chinese and Western cultures in Macao. In addition, two special guests also performed a number of popular classic songs, including Wishing We Last Forever, Moon Over My Heart, First Love and Smile Again, intertwined with the folk music presented by the Orchestra, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere allowing the audiences to experience different music styles between traditional and modern pop music in a pleasant and lively Mid-Autumn Festival night.
