Macao University of Tourism and Griffith University Sign Agreement for Dual Bachelor’s Degree Programme

On 23 October 2026, the Macao University of Tourism (UTM) and Griffith University (GU) in Australia signed an Articulation Agreement at the first-phase campus of the Macao-Hengqin International Education (University) Town, for the establishment of a Dual Bachelor’s Degree Programme, marking an important milestone in expanding international academic opportunities for students and strengthening educational collaboration between Macao and Australia, by utilising the platform of the University Town.

Established in 1975, Griffith University is a leading public research university in Queensland, Australia, with five campuses across Southeast Queensland, more than 50,000 students, and a global alumni network of over 200,000 graduates. In ShanghaiRanking’s 2026 Global Ranking of Academic Subject in Hospitality & Tourism Management, GU ranks ninth globally and second in Australia. Its Business School is also internationally recognised, holding both EQUIS and AACSB accreditations.

Under the current agreement, students who successfully achieve the graduation requirements of both universities will be awarded two bachelor’s degrees, one from UTM and one from GU, within a minimum of four years through a mutually recognised credit transfer framework.

As UTM continues to expand its presence in the University Town under the “One University, Two Campuses” model, the University is actively leveraging its global partnership network to enrich the international academic ecosystem in Hengqin. The collaboration with GU reflects UTM’s commitment to internationalisation and academic excellence. The programme will provide students with an enhanced global learning experience, broaden their international career prospects, and equip them with the interdisciplinary knowledge and cross-cultural competencies required by the rapidly evolving tourism and hospitality industries.
