Background:
Under the guidance of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) is hosting the “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025” (hereinafter referred to as “Art Macao 2025”). Co-organizers include the Macao Government Tourism Office, Galaxy Entertainment Group, Melco Resorts & Entertainment, MGM, Sands China Ltd., SJM Resorts Limited, and Wynn Resorts Macau. The biennale will be divided into six sections: the Main Exhibition, the Public Art Exhibition, the City Pavilion, the Special Exhibition, the Local Curatorial Project, and the Collateral Exhibition.
The Collateral Exhibition of “Art Macao 2025” aims to highlight Macao’s art education development and creative energy, and promote the development of local artistic professions and creative industries. The exhibition now publicly calls for proposals, and interested parties are welcome to participate.
In addition to the Collateral Exhibition open call, "Art Macao 2025" is also publicly soliciting exhibition proposals for the Local Curatorial Project, with a submission deadline of May 6, 2025.
Eligibility:
- Organizations must be registered in Macao as higher education institutions, commercial companies, or social associations.
- Individuals must be Macao residents aged 18 or above.
Requirements:
Exhibition Proposal: The contemporary art exhibition proposal is recommended to center on the theme of “Art Macao 2025”: “Hey, what brings you here?” The opening ceremony of the exhibition must be between July 19 and October 12 and last at least two weeks.
Selection Process: The final eligibility of the collateral exhibition is decided by Feng Boyi, the Chief Curator of “Art Macao 2025”, and the IC will confirm the results.
Obligations: Participants must be responsible for arranging a suitable exhibition venue, and fees of organizing the exhibition.
