Artist Chan Hung-Lu will showcase his video installation Close Encounters with Inner Aliens at the Main Exhibition of Art Macao 2025, and this workshop is an extended activity of the artwork. The artist will lead participants to re-imagine aliens from inside and out in three phases: science, science fiction and neuroscience, thus exploring how human beings, who are subject to strong historical, cultural and social influences, perceive and conceive various ‘inner aliens’. By combining meditation practices and AI image generation technology, this workshop will guide participants to visualise the alienated others in their mind and discuss and reflect on the origins and differences of these inner aliens.
Note: Participants are required to bring along their smart phone. During the workshop, they will use the smart phone to generate images after connecting to an AI generation page. A Wi-Fi network is available at the venue.
