Get ready for a mesmerising evening with a unique fado concert featuring Cuca Roseta’s enchanting voice and the brilliancy of the Macao Chinese Orchestra.
Often described as the sound of Portuguese soul, fado is characterised by poignant lyrics and melodies that primarily explore themes of love, loss, longing, and destiny. Yet, while mostly melancholic, fado occasionally embraces cheerful and relaxed tones too. Cuca Roseta, one of the most captivating singers of her generation, brings a fresh though deeply respectful interpretation to this timeless genre. Her style incorporates influences from jazz, bossa nova, and world music, yet maintaining the purity and simplicity of traditional fado, emphasising narrative and meaning. Known for her emotional and crystal-clear vocals, Roseta has graced stages around the world, carrying the legacy of fado to new audiences with grace and intensity. The Macao Chinese Orchestra, with its exquisite musicianship and rich cultural heritage, will add a unique twist to the evening.
