Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that inbound package tour visitors totalled 204,000 in April 2025, an uplift of 12.1% year-on-year. The average occupancy rate of guest rooms rose by 4.7 percentage points year-on-year to 87.8%. Number of guests of hotel establishments increased by 3.4% year-on-year to 1,199,000, while the average length of stay of guests remained at 1.6 nights.
There were 204,000 inbound package tour visitors in April, up by 12.1% year-on-year. Tour visitors from mainland China rose by 11.8% year-on-year to 178,000. International tour visitors increased by 4% to 20,000, with those coming from the Republic of Korea (8,000) growing by 10.9%.
Number of Macao residents purchasing outbound services through travel agencies totalled 49,000 in April, a rise of 10.7% year-on-year. Number of residents travelling on package tours went up by 2.2% year-on-year to 14,000, with 13,000 of them going to mainland China.
In the first four months of 2025, a total of 757,000 inbound package tour visitors were recorded, up by 10.2% year-on-year. Tour visitors from mainland China rose by 8.9% year-on-year to 662,000. Besides, international tour visitors went up by 9.3% to 76,000, with those coming from the Republic of Korea (38,000) rising by 24.6%. In addition, number of Macao residents purchasing outbound services through travel agencies grew by 8.6% year-on-year to 172,000, and number of residents travelling on package tours increased by 14.2% to 44,000.
There were 147 hotel establishments offering accommodation services to the public at the end of April this year, an increase of 4 year-on-year; total number of available guest rooms dropped by 4.3% to 45,000. The average occupancy rate of guest rooms rose by 4.7 percentage points year-on-year to 87.8% in April; the rates for 5-star (90.9%), 4-star (82.4%) and 3-star hotels (84.4%) showed respective growth of 6.2 percentage points, 2.8 percentage points and 3.4 percentage points.
In April, number of guests of hotel establishments increased by 3.4% year-on-year to 1,199,000. Guests from mainland China (861,000) rose by 4.5% year-on-year. Meanwhile, international guests (106,000) grew by 12.3% year-on-year; among them, those from the Republic of Korea (25,000), India (9,000), Thailand (9,000) and Japan (7,000) went up by 3.1%, 64.4%, 28.4% and 5% respectively, while those from Malaysia (8,000) and Indonesia (8,000) fell by 3.1% and 0.1% respectively.
In the first four months of 2025, the average occupancy rate of guest rooms of hotel establishments climbed by 5.1 percentage points year-on-year to 89.6%. Total number of guests decreased by 3.2% year-on-year to 4,779,000, whereas their average length of stay remained at 1.7 nights.
