UTM achieves good result in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for hospitality and leisure management
The Macao University of Tourism (UTM) ranked the 10th position globally, 1st in Asia and 1st in Macao in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for hospitality and leisure management – once again demonstrating its academic excellence and international influence in the field of tourism education.
A total of more than 1,500 institutions worldwide were evaluated in this subject area for the 2026 rankings. UTM garnered an all-time high total score in this academic field. The QS World University Rankings rate universities across the globe by individual topic areas. The placings take into consideration factors such as academic reputation, employer reputation, and citations per paper. Amidst intensifying international competition, UTM has not only achieved steady growth in “academic reputation” indicator, but has also recorded a continuous rise in its “employer reputation” score – a reflection of its graduates’ strong competitiveness and recognition in the job market, owing to the outstanding performance of its alumni in the industry.
UTM is actively expanding its international cooperation network. In addition to launching collaborative programmes with renowned institutions worldwide, the University has also introduced co-branded programmes with UN Tourism, further enhancing its global engagement and academic influence. Furthermore, the University will launch a Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme and a Bachelor of Science in Management and Data Science programme in the new academic year, actively responding to the new talent demands of the smart tourism era.
