On 23 March 2026, a welcome ceremony for the fifth round of national team training in the Hotel Reception category of the 48th WorldSkills Competition was held at the WorldSkills Macao, China Comprehensive Training Base, located at Angsana Zhuhai Hengqin.
Representatives from the Macao SAR Government Labour Affairs Bureau, Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Macao University of Tourism (UTM), Galaxy Entertainment Group, Melco Resorts & Entertainment, as well as the competitors and coaches from both mainland China and the Macao SAR in the Hotel Reception category gathered at the Base to embark on this new phase of preparation.
At the ceremony, Mr. Chan Chon U, Acting Director of the Labour Affairs Bureau and Ms. Xu Fengmei, Deputy Director of the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, praised the strong collaboration between Macao and Hengqin in cultivating skilled talent and expressed high expectations for the training teams.

Looking ahead, UTM will continue to leverage the Base as a platform to deepen collaboration with mainland partners, channel high-quality resources into building a skilled talent hub across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and empower regional industrial development through skills-based cooperation.
