Remarks / Important notes on application
Important note:
1. The animal shall be quarantined for a period that varies from 10 days to 6 months. If the animal had been vaccinated against rabies and had passed the inspection conducted by the veterinarian of IAM, it could be put under home quarantine. After the observation period is over, the owner of the animal have to go to the Macao Municipal Kennel to process the required formality to redeem the animal; if an owner does not claim the animal within 7 working days after the notification and announcement of the IAM are issued, the act is equivalent to abandoning the animal;
2.Upon redemption of the animal, if its owner fails to present its valid pet license and/or document(s) certifying that the animal had been vaccinated against rabies, the owner is required to process the respective formalities and pay for the necessary charges;
3. Upon redemption of the dog, the owner has to pay for its food and accommodation besides the inspection fee;
4. The formality for dog redemption is processed by the Macao Municipal Kennel;
5. If the animal is diagnosed to have symptoms of rabies during the quarantine period, IAM shall immediately inform the victim and the Health Bureau about the diagnosis; otherwise no further notice is required.
