 How to Apply

Service hours:

24 hours (For details, please refer to the “Time and location of application”)

Required documents:

The following documents should be presented upon admission:

  • Identity document;
  • Patient Card (also known as ‘gold card’);
  • Admission slip (if available);
  •  Others :
    • Healthcare Access Card (applicable to civil servants and/or their family beneficiaries); or
    • Medical Card (applicable to the staff of the entities which have signed a protocol with the Health Bureau); or
    • Healthcare Access Card and relevant documentary proof (applicable to individuals eligible for “free healthcare”).

Time and location for admission to Conde de São Januário General Hospital 

Service hours: Monday to Friday (except government holidays), 08:30am~6pm

Location:  Patient Relations Office, lobby of Conde de São Januário General Hospital

Time and location for admission to Community Integrated Ward   

Service hours: 24 hours

Location:  Island Emergency Station – Emergency Registration Office

Fees:

Daily room charge (excluding laboratory tests, medication, treatment, surgery, etc.)

  1. Macao SAR Resident Identity Card : MOP 42
  2. Non-resident Worker’s Identification Card : MOP 60
  3. Non-Macao resident identification document : MOP 120

Charges of “pregnancy and childbirth services” and “special obstetric services” for non-resident workers and non-resident pregnant women (View fee schedule here)

Charging rate of other medical services (e.g. laboratory tests, medication, treatment, surgery, etc.)

  1. Macao SAR Resident Identity Card : 70%
  2. Non-resident Worker’s Identification Card : 100%
  3. Non-Macao resident identification document : 200%

Processing Time

For patients admitted through the Outpatient Department, the Patient Relations Office will arrange staff to arrive at the OPD in 8 minutes after receiving notification, to escort the patient and his/her family to process the admission procedures. (Performance pledge)

Remarks/Notes for Application

Visiting hours

  • General wards are open for visiting daily from 1-4pm and 6-8pm;
  • Emergency wards are open for visiting daily from 12pm noon to 2pm, and from 6-8pm.
  • Visits during non-visiting hours are only permitted with the “Permission to Enter Ward in Specific Hours” issued by the attending physician.

Visiting rules

  1. Visitors should access the hospital via public entrance;
  2. For specific wards, visitors may be requested to fill in the “CHCSJ visitor record” and present their identification documents for verification;
  3. For the well-being of younger children, infants and children under 5 years of age are not allowed to visit wards;
  4. Visitors are not allowed outside visiting hours;
  5. Visiting arrangements under special circumstances:
    1. For patients with special needs, attending physician may give permission to one family member to visit the ward outside normal visiting hours by completing the “Permission to Enter Ward in Specific Hours” form;
    2. Each “Permission to Enter Ward in Specific Hours” is intended for one visitor only, photocopies will not be accepted;
    3. In the case of receiving notification from the Hospital to visit a hospitalized family member in critical condition or handle an emergency formality outside visiting hours, visitors should register at the security room located at the hospital lobby before entering the ward.
