Import of Goods (Health Bureau)

Service Introduction

In accordance with Law no. 7/2003 (Foreign Trade Law) amended by Law no. 3/2016, and Administrative Regulation no. 28/2003 (Regulations on Foreign Trade Activities) amended by Administrative Regulation no. 19/2016, the Chief Executive Dispatch no. 487/2016 was made, providing that the Health Bureau is vested with the power of issuing prior authorisation for the import of goods as listed in category B, Table B (Table of Importation), Annex II of the same dispatch, such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, raw materials of pharmaceuticals, reagents for diagnostic or laboratory use, as well as infant formula milk powder.

Service targets and eligibilities: Depending on the category of goods, the import application should be submitted by the company holding the “Licence for Firms for Import, Export and Wholesale of Pharmaceutical Products” issued by the Health Bureau, or by the businesses holding the “Registration for Controlled Foreign Trade Operations” issued by the Macao Economic Services

Result of application: The Health Bureau will issue a prior authorisation for the import of goods to applicants that meet the approval requirements.
