IFT Open Day

The Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) will hold an Open Day at IFT Mong-Há Campus on 25 November, to provide an opportunity for prospective students, parents, as well as the general public to find out more about IFT and its programmes. Through various activities, visitors will be able to understand about the Institute’s educational philosophy, pedagogical facilities and environment.



Fourth quarterly lucky draw results of Household Budget Survey announced

Data collection for the 2017/2018 Household Budget Survey has been successfully concluded. As a token of appreciation from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), all households who completed the Survey will automatically enter the Cooperating Households Lucky Draw of the quarter, and members of the cooperating households who complete the Expense Diary online are entitled for the Online Expense Diary Lucky Draw of the quarter to get an additional chance of winning. The fourth quarterly draws took place on 16 November, officiated by Ieong Meng Chao, Director of DSEC, Wong Teng Yin, Department Chief, Choi Ka I, Division Chief, and Tang Iok Man, Functional Head. A total of 42 winning households and household members are announced as follows:


The Museum of Taipa and Coloane History closes to the public temporarily from Tuesday

In order to improve the facilities of the museum and to provide a better and more comfortable environment for the public, the Museum of Taipa and Coloane History, under the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will carry out renovation works from today (20 November) and will be temporarily closed to the public from 27 November to 17 December.


Conde de S. Januário General Hospital updated the clinical condition of the injured at Macau Grand Prix

Conde de São Januário General Hospital held a press conference yesterday (19th November) evening, hosted by the Hospital’s Clinical Director Dr Lei Wai Seng, Chief of Orthopaedics Department Dr Lau Wai Lit and Consultant Orthopaedist Dr Chan Hong Mou, to update the clinical condition of those injured during the Macau Grand Prix.


DSI continues to extend location of round-the-clock self-service application and integrated kiosks

In order to respond to the development of society and the needs of Macao residents, the Identification Services Bureau (DSI) extends the location of round-the-clock self-service application for the Certificate of Criminal Record at DSI’s electronic services area on the ground floor of China Plaza and at the Islands District Public Services Centre – Seac Pai Van Station. Such extension enables residents in various districts to go through application in non-office hours. Besides, applicants can choose to collect their certificate either at DSI or at the Government Services Centre.

Consumer Council conducted its latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 19 November for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included supermarkets at Lam Mau, Patane and San Kio areas in Santo António Parish.




Macao Orchestra held concerts dedicated to French music at universities

The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presented three concerts dedicated to French music compositions at the Auditorium of the Macao Polytechnic Institute, the Student Activity Centre of the University of Macau and the Auditorium of the library building of the Macau University of Science and Technology on 15 and 17 November. The concerts were conducted and explained by OM’s Assistant Conductor, Francis Kan, in an effort to promote classical music.
