Vice Minister of National Health Commission, Cao Xuetao, visits Macao Union Medical Center

Vice Minister of the National Health Commission, Cao Xuetao, led a delegation on May 28th to visit the Islands Healthcare Complex. – Macao Medical Center of Peking Union Medical College Hospital (hereafter referred to as the “Macao Union Medical Center”). During the visit, the delegation toured the Ambulatory Medical Centre, the Imagiology Centre and the Assisted Reproduction Center of the Macao Union Medical Center, followed by an introduction by Director Wu Wenming. The delegation was accompanied by Director of the Health Bureau, Lo Iek Long; Deputy Director and First-Level Inspector of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs of the National Health Commission, He Zhaohua; and Deputy Director-General of the Department of Medical Administration of the National Health Commission, Li Dachuan, among others.

Macao’s ICCA Ranking Has a Notable Rise of 31 Places, Tying with Beijing and Qatar at the 76th Place

The International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA), a premier institution in the global MICE industry, has unveiled its “2024 ICCA Market Annual Report”, highlighting Macao’s remarkable achievements. In 2024, Macao hosted 33 ICCA-accredited international conferences, marking a notable 50% surge from 22 events in 2023. Among them, 26 conferences (79%) involved the major industries outlined in the “1+4” development plan for appropriate economic diversification, with prominent growth in modern finance and tourism-related conferences. These accomplishments demonstrate the strides made by Macao’s MICE industry in advancing industrial diversification, thereby enhancing the synergistic relationships with various sectors.


2024 Annual Report of the CCAC of Macao published in Official Gazette

The 2024 Annual Report of the Commission Against Corruption of Macao was published in the Official Gazette of the Macao Special Administrative Region today (11th June). In 2024, the CCAC placed a total of 293 cases on file, including 113 processed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau and 147 processed by the Ombudsman Bureau. In addition, there were 33 mutual assistance cases placed on file at the request of law-enforcement agencies outside the region and 393 cases archived or referred to competent departments for follow-up for the reason that they did not meet the conditions to be placed on file.

UM Faculty of Health Sciences holds talks on life science for secondary school students

To promote science education and stimulate an interest in life sciences among the younger generation, the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the University of Macau (UM) held science talks for over 600 secondary school students at the Affiliated School of the University of Macau and Colégio Mateus Ricci.
