The Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Mr Wu Bangguo, will visit Macao at the invitation of the Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, to attend a string of activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the promulgation of the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region Macao.
The law, adopted at the First Session of the Eighth National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China and promulgated by Decree of the President of the People's Republic of China No. 3 on 31 March 1993, came into effect at the establishment of the Macao SAR on 20 December 1999.
