China Coal Mine Art Troupe’s Quyi Ensemble will visit Macao on the fifth and sixth days of the Lunar New Year, presenting a series of traditional folk arts across various communities.
About the China Coal Mine Art Troupe
Founded in 1947, the China Coal Mine Art Troupe is one of China’s oldest state-level performing arts troupes. Currently, it comprises the Song and Dance, Drama and Quyi Ensembles, one Chinese folk orchestra, as well as creative, stage and art training centres. As a comprehensive art institution, the troupe is renowned for its diverse artistic disciplines, rich performance styles, talented professionals, and vibrant creative output. Among them, the Quyi Ensemble stands out as an outstanding performing group specializing in traditional Chinese folk arts, including Quyi, opera, and acrobatics. Upholding a people-centered creative philosophy, the ensemble remains devoted to serving the public through art and telling China’s stories with heart and soul. It has successfully staged numerous acclaimed performances such as The Grand Canal in Quyi, Laughter and Literature, and The Eighteen Arts of Quyi. Its performances have toured extensively across the country, earning deep affection from audiences nationwide.
