Government garners public opinion on 2019 Policy Address

The consultation period regarding the Policy Address for the Fiscal Year 2019 runs from 11 to 25 October inclusive.

The Government has today launched a 15-day public consultation in order that it can supplement, via input from the community, its own ideas for the Policy Address for the Fiscal Year 2019.

The consultation, running up to and including 25 October, aims to garner fresh, constructive and practical suggestions for next year’s policy blueprint, to ensure that matters of public concern are effectively addressed.

To encourage the public to participate in the consultation, the Government has organised production of promotional materials, including videos; advertising on television channels; and promotion on radio, in newspapers and on social media.

Members of the public are welcome to contribute their opinions either via the official website of the Chief Executive’s Office (www.gce.gov.mo) or via the mobile application “GCE Macao”. Alternatively, opinions can be sent to the Policy Research and Regional Development Bureau, via any of the following methods: by telephone on either +853 2883 9919 or +853 2884 4265; by fax on +853 2882 3426; by email at comment@dsepdr.gov.mo; by post to P.O. Box 1375; or in person (by prior appointment only) to representatives of the Policy Research and Regional Development Bureau at Rua do Desporto, No.185-195, Taipa, Macao.

The Government organised a similar consultation last year and received many useful suggestions. The Government hopes to continue gathering public opinion via a diverse range of channels, and to encourage a greater number of people – and from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds – to share their suggestions and opinions for the annual policy blueprint. Ideas from the public are a significant route by which to advance Macao’s economic development, social well-being and stability.
