Essential sevices provided by SWB during the period of 3rd to 7th of February


In response to the further development of the new coronavirus and by order of the Chief Executive No. 11/CE/2020, Public Administration and Civil Service workers will be exempted from work between the 3th and 7th of February 2020. Please be informed that during the said period the Healthy Life Education Centre services will be suspended and other SWB units will operate with minimum services, namely:

  • Subsidy for individuals and families in financial distress(urgent cases only)
  • Individual and Family Counselling Service(urgent cases only)
  • Urgent intervention (Social Welfare Bureau)
  • Financial assistance for funeral expenses
  • Social Service Facilities(Service application/request and case follow-up)
  • Support service for users of residential facilities
  • Detoxification Treatment Service (methadone treatment and maintenance service and outpatient detoxification treatment service -basic service provided)
  • Application for Disability Assessment Registration Card
  • Application for Disability Subsidy
  • Service for victims of human trafficking
  • Work or services regarding Social Re-integration ordered by judicial institutions for immediate execution
  • Inspection of Social Service Facilities and coordination in epidemic prevention
  • Service provided in case of accidents and natural disaters

The Social Welfare Bureau appeals to the understanding of the population in refraining themselves to come to the SWB for the application of services classified as non-urgent; advises the residents to remain at home to prevent the risk of contamination caused by the concentration of people.
