"Wushu – Chinese Martial Arts and Health”- souvenir sheet

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme Wushu – Chinese Martial Arts and Health” on 13th September, 2021. Chinese martial arts emerged from life, and eventually evolved in the process of picking wild fruits, hunting, and resisting fierce beasts, and had the purpose of “strengthening the body in times of peace and defending the country in times of chaos” during the cold weapon era. We are fortunate to be in a peaceful time with scientific and technological advancement, and Wushu is one of the good options for individuals to attain physical and mental health.

This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet, the stamps are themed as: “Constant Training”, “Qigong - Yi Jin Jing”, “Lion Dance” and “Choi Lei Fat Martial Arts”. The souvenir sheet is themed on “Martial Virtue”, in order to attain the higher level of Wushu, martial arts practitioners must continuously enhance overall consistency and enforce the criterion of “martial virtue” on practitioners, so that excellent cultural accomplishments of Chinese martial arts can be fully inherited and promoted, and the norm of “advocating martial arts and virtue, strengthening one’s body with martial arts, nurturing one’s character with virtue, and pursuing both professional excellence and moral integrity” can be achieved.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office (9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.), the Communications Museum (9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., 2:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.), and the “Rua do Campo” Post Office (9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.). The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The philatelic products are as follows:

The selling price for one set of four stamps is 17.00 patacas, the first day cover with stamps (FDC) is 23.00 patacas, the first day cover with souvenir sheet (FDC/SS) is 20.00 patacas, the information brochure with stamps is 24.00 patacas and the information brochure with souvenir sheet is 21.00 patacas.

The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Lok Hei, and the text of the information brochure is written by the President of the Association of Martial Arts and Physical Education of Macao Workers, Mr. Un Oi Mou.
