IAM organises monthly Pet Information Station providing vaccination and adoption enquiry services

Vaccination and adoption enquiryservices are provided at Pet Information Station.

From March to December this year, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) and animal protection associations will organise one session of “Pet Preparatory Class—Pet Information Station” every month in different communities to provide rabies vaccination for dogs and animal adoption enquiry service. Exhibition on information about animal protection, interactive game booths and booths for animal origami and drawing are also set up on site to promote the messages on animal protection such as adoption instead of purchase, fulfilling pet owners’ obligations, etc. The activity of March will be held on 28 March in Praça dos Lótus in Bairro da Ilha Verde. It is free of charge and the public are welcome to take part in the activity.

Booking of rabies vaccination service

Rabies vaccination service is available at the “Pet Preparatory Class—Pet Information Station”. Owners can make a booking before the day of the activity via the “Macao One Account”. They should firstly select “Chips/Tickets for prior booking” on the “Appointment for counter service” interface, then select “INSTITUTO PARA OS ASSUNTOS MUNICIPAIS”, and complete the booking after selecting “Pet Preparatory Class—Pet Information Station” at the corresponding location. As there is a quota for the number of appointments available at each session, owners are advised to bring their dogs and vaccination records to the arranged location on the day of the appointment for rabies vaccination on site. IAM reminds the owners that in accordance with “Animal Protection Law”, they should vaccinate their dogs against rabies regularly and adopt necessary measures to prevent and treat contagious diseases.

Interactive games promoting the concept of animal protection

The mascots of Pet Preparatory Class designated webpage, “Grandpa Tangerine”, “Miss Mou” and “Uncle Turtle”, are the promotion ambassadors of “Pet Information Station”. Two additional sessions are organised this year, in hopes to go deeper into communities and introduce the core contents of “Animal Protection Law”, “Animal Epidemic Prevention Law” and “Law on Veterinary Clinical Care and Commercial Activity of Animals” to the public in an easy-to-understand manner through interactive booth games and exhibition on information about pet-keeping. Booths featuring animal origami and drawing activities and sculptures of the mascots for photo-taking are also set up on site to create a fun interactive space for parents and children.

Animal adoption enquiry service

A booth featuring “Five steps of adoption” is set up at “Pet Information Station” to provide convenience for people with the intention to adopt animals to learn about the animal adoption process, see pictures and videos of animals up for adoption and communicate with on-site veterinarians and staff regarding information about adoption, so as to promote “adoption instead of purchase”.

By playing the games, participants can win fabulous prizes, including limited edition prizes of the mascots, while stocks last. The organiser may make adjustments to the activity arrangements based on weather and other conditions. The activity schedule is as follows:
