Registration for Macao Museum of Art’s workshops “Art Without Boundaries” is open

Children’s Art Creative Workshop

The Macao Museum of Art (MAM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will organise the “Art Without Boundaries – Children’s Workshop Series” from October to December this year, featuring seven sessions of art workshops designated for children and youth aged 4 to 16. Through the combination of traditional and contemporary art forms, these art workshops inspire participants’ observation and imagination in classical art, while encouraging them to boldly explore the diverse expressions of contemporary art and experience the infinite possibilities of creation. Interested parties can register through the “Activity Applications” of the Macao One Account from 8 to 27 September.

This series of workshops features Guangdong paintings of the Qing Dynasty and works by Mio Peng Fei, a pioneer of modern art in Macao, guiding participants to appreciate the delicate brushwork of traditional paintings and the abstract techniques of modern expression, and to explore creative artistic practices that integrate ancient and contemporary methods. “An Adventure Through Time and Space – Children’s Art Creative Workshop”, conducted in Chinese and English (a total of five sessions), is suitable for children aged 5 to 10, in which participants can incorporate materials with their creative thoughts through experiments. The “Oriental Rhapsody – Youth Creative Workshop” is dedicated for teenagers aged 11 to 16, in which participants can explore rich textures and layers through diverse media, from two-dimensional to three-dimensional art, to create abstract paintings with their own personal style. The “Merging Past and Present, East and West – Parent-Child Creative Workshop” is suitable for children aged 4 to 6 accompanied by parents, in which they can compare traditional brushwork and abstract strokes and share creative resonance. Each workshop mentioned above lasts 12 hours, with a fee of MOP240, and is held at the Zero Square on the Ground Floor of MAM or at the Art Square of the Ground Floor of the Handover Gifts Museum of Macao.

The “Art Without Boundaries – Children’s Workshop Series” is held twice a year. Registration is limited to “Friends of MAM”. Interested parties can register through the “Activity Applications” of the Macao One Account (activity.mo.gov.mo/activity-h5) from 10am on 8 September or by searching for “Art Without Boundaries” and complete the registration and payment. Places are limited and participants will be selected by random draw. Membership registration can be made via the “Macao One Account” or at the MAM reception desk.

The Macao Museum of Art is located at the Avenida Xian Xing Hai, Macao, and is open daily from 10am to 7pm (last admission at 6:30pm), including on public holidays, and is closed on Mondays. For more information, please visit the MAM website at www.MAM.gov.mo or contact MAM at tel. no. 8791 9814.
