"Onde a cultura floresce, a felicidade acontece" — Trocar um Livro por Outro
In order to further promote a reading culture and reading habits in the community, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) will continue to launch a diverse range of reading promotion activities across various local districts from October to December, including the “Where culture flourishes, happiness happens” – “Book for Book” activity, the “Mobile Library” outreach service, the “Introduction to Macao Public Library Resources and Services” Community Exhibition, among others. Admission is free. Members of the public are welcome to participate and enjoy the pleasure of reading.
The well-received “Where culture flourishes, happiness happens – Book for Book” activity will be held again from October to December. The first session will be held on 10 and 11 October at the Leisure area at Edf. Lok Yeung Fa Yuen. To expand service coverage, the session in November will be extended to Seac Pai Van in Coloane, bringing the rich reading culture to different communities. The session, originally scheduled to be held at Amizade Square, will be relocated to Rua Marginal do Lam Mau due to construction works. Members of the public are welcome to bring their used good books for exchange and to share the pleasure of reading with other book lovers. The “Introduction to Macao Public Library Resources and Services” Community Exhibition will be held concurrently at the venue, providing illustrated introductions about the public library branches of IC, convenient services, electronic resources, as well as the “10-Minute Reading” Incentive Scheme and the Macao Reading Festival to the public.
In addition, the Mobile Library of IC will travel various districts across Macao every weekend from October to December, providing convenient outreach services such as book browsing, “Story World”, on-site applications for library cards and library service consultations, which are suitable for families to enjoy, integrating reading into the daily lives of residents.
