Students learn about internship and career opportunities at the fair
The 2026/2027 Autumn Career and Internship Fair for Technology and Engineering, jointly organised by the Faculty of Information Science and Computing and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Macau (UM), was held at the first phase of the Macao-Hengqin International Education (University) Town. The fair provided a platform for students to connect with technology and engineering enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), promoting talent mobility, industrial synergy, and the integration of Macao’s young people into national development.
The fair was held with assistance from the University of Macau Advanced Research Institute in Hengqin and the University of Macau Science & Education Development Institute in Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and was presented by Hengqin Talent Group Co., Ltd. With a focus on technological R&D and engineering applications, the fair attracted 30 leading companies which offered nearly 230 internship and employment opportunities in areas such as artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, software development, and network engineering, providing students with a wide range of options.
As an important hub for cultivating technology and engineering talent, UM continues to forge strong partnerships with enterprises across the GBA to expand practical learning opportunities and broaden students’ career horizons. In addition to a job-matching zone, the fair offered services such as resume enhancement guidance to help students improve their competitiveness in the job market. Participating students noted that the event not only provided employment opportunities, but also helped them better understand the prospects of studying, working, and living across borders. This boosted their confidence in seizing career opportunities in the GBA.
The Faculty of Information Science and Computing and the Faculty of Engineering at UM will continue to collaborate with leading enterprises in the GBA, providing students with expanded career development opportunities, promoting talent mobility between Macao and Hengqin, and facilitating collaborative innovation of technology and engineering industries in the region, thereby injecting new momentum into the country’s high-quality development.
