Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the unemployment rate for September-November 2014 held stable as August-October 2014, at 1.7%; the underemployment rate was 0.4%, up slightly by 0.1 percentage point. Total labour force reached 403,100 and the labour force participation rate increased to 74.4%. Total employment was 396,200, an increase of 1,800 from August-October 2014. Analysed by industry, employment in Gaming (85,900) increased by 1,300, and that in Construction (56,800) rose by 1,100. Number of the unemployed was 6,900, similar to that in August-October 2014; fresh labour force entrants searching for their first job accounted for 20.3% of the total unemployed, down by 5.7 percentage points. In comparison with September-November 2013, the labour force participation rate increased by 1.2 percentage points; the unemployment rate decreased by 0.2 percentage points, while the underemployment rate remained constant.
