UM and University of Lisbon to initiate collaboration in medical sciences

A delegation from the University of Macau (UM), led by Rector Yonghua Song, recently visited the University of Lisbon (ULisboa) in Portugal. During the visit, Rector Song and ULisboa Rector António da Cruz Serra had an in-depth discussion on collaboration in the area of medical sciences and signed a strategic collaboration agreement. Serra expressed hope that both universities would initiate collaboration in clinical medicine, public health, dental science, and psychiatry. He also expressed hope that UM and ULisboa would jointly establish an international medical school in the future.


2020 budget proposal recommends continuation of tax relief and welfare measures

The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, today presented a budget proposal for 2020, suggesting continuation of, respectively, a number of tax relief measures, subsidies for disadvantaged groups, the Wealth Partaking Scheme, and the health voucher scheme.

IC announces the list of entrants for the second review of the “7th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making”

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym) has recently completed the initial review of the “7th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making”. A total of 19 entries were received, and the adjudicating panel selected 15 entries for the second review. Each candidate eligible for the second review will be granted a subsidy up to a maximum amount of MOP170,000 to cover expenses for sample making and production of promotional materials.



Mortgage loans statistics – September 2019

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) and commercial real estate loans (CRELs) both decreased in September 2019. With regard to the outstanding balances, both RMLs and CRELs witnessed increases.
