The DSEJ announces the postponement of resumption of classes at non-tertiary education schools

In response to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia in Wuhan, the DSEJ has announced that all non-tertiary education schools in Macao will resume classes on or after 10thFebruary, 2020 (Monday) after the Chinese New Year holiday. Schools have to make preparations for students to study at home. Private tutorial centres and continuing education institutions must also postpone their resumption date to 10th February (Monday) or after. During this period, the DSEJ will continue to closely monitor the development of the epidemic situation and make corresponding arrangements in due course.


CE: Macao to be highly vigilant over Lunar New Year holidays on developments in disease outbreak

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today announced the Government would for the time being cancel all large-scale public events it had planned to hold. This was in order to strengthen control measures – already in place – to prevent an outbreak of disease from spreading in the community and to protect further the safety of the public.


Secretaries coordinate community resources to bolster disease control

Macao’s five Government Secretaries respectively held meetings today with representatives of community groups, in a bid to utilise the latter’s community work and social networks to complement the Government’s disease-control efforts.





Consumer Council released latest supermarket price survey report of the current month

The Consumer Council released the second “Supermarket price survey report” of Taipa and Coloane in January. Surveyed data included prices, price differences and promotional offers of over 200 products from 7 supermarkets in the Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.


Face masks reserved for purchase by Macao residents and non-resident workers

Designated pharmacies are to make available protective face masks – reserved for purchase by either Macao residents or non-resident workers – starting from this evening (Thursday). Buyers will need to present either a Macao ID card or a non-resident worker ID card.


DSI launched online application for SAR travel documents and travel permit to HKSAR

The Identification Service Bureau (DSI) proactively promotes online application service in line with the development of electronic administration. Following the online application for the Certificate of Criminal Record, the Certificate of Personal Data and the Certificate of Association and Foundation, DSI extends the application service for the SAR travel documents and the visit permit to HKSAR to mobile devices. The relevant service has been put into use on a trial basis since 26th December 2019 and it is officially launched today (23rd January 2020).


Health Bureau confirms second infection case of novel coronavirus

The Health Bureau confirmed a second infected case of the newly-identified coronavirus found in the Wuhan pneumonia outbreak.
