Commemorative Activities of the 90th Anniversary of “March of the Volunteers” launched

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym) and the Education and Youth Development Bureau, with the support of the Tianhan Foundation of China, the Launch Ceremony of the Commemorative Activities of the 90th Anniversary of “March of the Volunteers” was held on 28 October at the Macao Cultural Centre, with the aim of promoting the spirit of the national anthem among the public. On the same day, the cultural performance “Melodies of War, Spirit of the Nation” and a series of activities including a lecture themed on the 90th anniversary of the “March of the Volunteers, and the photo exhibition “Call for Progress Across Eras: Tian Han and the National Anthem”, was held, aiming to convey the indomitable spirit of the Chinese nation and further inspiring patriotism among young people.


Cultural Affairs Bureau organizes creative handicraft workshops at the Tap Siac Craft Market

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), the Tap Siac Craft Market will be held from 20 to 23, 27 to 30 November at Tap Siac Square. 63 creative handicraft workshops will be held, including 13 sessions for families. The workshops include ceramics, glass, miniature and leather, integrating fun, creativity and crafts. All interested parties are welcome to participate.


Exhibition “Reflections of Maritime Connections” opens next Friday showcasing the splendid history of Sino-Portuguese cultural exchange from the 16th to 19th Century

Jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Palace Museum, co-organised by the National Museum of Ancient Art, the Orient Foundation and the Ajuda Library, and implemented by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM), the exhibition “Reflections of Maritime Connections: 16th-19th Century Sino-Portuguese Cultural Exchange” will be inaugurated on 7 November 2025 at 6:30pm on the 4th floor of the MAM. Divided into three sections including “Dawn of the Porcelain Road”, “Cultural Exchange in Porcelain” and “Dialogues between Courts”, the exhibition features a selection of 177 precious items/sets from the aforementioned participating institutions, systematically showcasing the profound trade and cultural ties established between China and Portugal through the Maritime Silk Road during the 16th to 19th centuries. It also highlights the amicable exchanges between the Qing court and the Portuguese royal family, as well as the important role of Macao as a bridge in the Sino-Portuguese exchanges.


Announcement of medical service arrangements of Macao Union Medical Center for Chong Yeung Festival

In view of the Chong Yeung Festival, the outpatient services of the Macao Union Medical Center (including all specialist clinics, the Imagiology Centre, radiation therapy, blood drawing and specimen collection services), the Ambulatory Medical Centre, as well as outpatient and physical examination services of the International Medical Centre will be closed on 29 October (Wednesday). However, inpatient and hemodialysis services will operate as usual.



UM students attend Confucius memorial ceremony at Hunan University

To promote cultural exchange between universities in Macao and the Chinese mainland and to deepen Macao students’ understanding of traditional Chinese culture, Cheng Yu Tung College (CYTC) of the University of Macau (UM) organised an exchange trip for its students and faculty to visit Hunan University. During the trip, CYTC members attended the Confucius memorial ceremony to commemorate the 2,576th anniversary of Confucius’ birth.




Full-scale emergency exercise was held at the airport to enhance crisis management capabilities

Macau International Airport conducted a full-scale emergency exercise in the early morning of October 28, 2025, aiming to assess the coordination mechanism and response capabilities of government entities and airport operators involved in rescue operations, as well as to strengthen experience in handling emergencies.


“Macao edition” of debit card with travel benefits launched in Korea to continue to expand the market

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) joined hands with partners in Korea to unveil a “Macao edition” of a debit card with access to discounts in travel bookings and activities in the city. A video with a Korean star actor along with other promotion were launched in tandem to continue to raise the profile of Macao as a favorite tourism destination and expand the Korean visitors source market.
