UM Portuguese Language Summer Programme concludes

The Department of Portuguese of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Macau (UM) held a closing ceremony for the 40th Portuguese Language Summer Programme. During the ceremony, participants showcased their learning outcomes through dance, music, and poetry recitation. Certificates were also presented to those who had successfully completed the three-week programme.


IAM urges public to stop consumption of a loose-packed dried lily bulb product found to contain excessive amount of heavy metal

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has found that a loose-packed dried lily bulb product available on the market contained an excessive amount of the heavy metal cadmium during routine sample testing of food. IAM has immediately followed up on the issue and ordered the involved business to stop selling the affected product.Members of the public are urged to stop eating it.


CCAC completes inquiry into Social Welfare Bureau’s termination of cooperation agreement in relation to Smart Nursery

The CCAC has completed the inquiry into the termination of the cooperation agreement in relation to Smart Nursery by the Social Welfare Bureau (hereinafter referred to as “SWB”), where it believed that the SWB’s termination of its cooperative relationship with Zonta Club of Macau (hereinafter referred to as “Zonta Club”) which operated Smart Nursery and its supervision on Zonta Club’s utilisation of subsidies on the nursery were on the basis of its own duties and that there was no existence of illegality or administrative impropriety. On the contrary, according to the findings of the investigation, there was information indicating the existence of irregularities or illegalities concerning staff employment, financial management and utilisation of subsidies at the nursery by Zonta Club. Moreover, Zonta Club failed to rectify the problems all along in a timely manner, thereby affecting the maintenance of good services of the nursery and childcare services to a certain extent.



Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau and IAM call on the public to stop consumption of batch of infant formula

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) was notified by the Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau (ISAF) that the amount of lead detected in a sample of a batch of “Frisolac Prestige Infant Formula Stage 1” has exceeded the food safety standards of Macao. IAM and ISAF are highly concerned about the incident. After preliminary inspection, the affected batch of infant formula has not been supplied to local hospitals. At the same time, they have immediately required the sector to remove products of the affected batch from the market, issue a recall and stop selling them. Staff have also been sent to carry out inspections to prevent the affected products from circulating on the market. Sample testing of infant formula products available on the market has also been increased, and abnormalities have not been found in other batches. IAM and ISAF will continue to follow up on the incident. They call on the public to pay attention and seek medical assistance as soon as possible if their infants and young children showed discomfort after consumption of the affected products.


Macao University of Tourism and The University of Queensland Launch “Dual Bachelor’s Degree Programme” Inaugural Cohort Embarks on Overseas Academic Studies

Macao University of Tourism (UTM) is committed to international education and jointly offering dual-degree programmes with renowned global universities. Recently, UTM has partnered with The University of Queensland (UQ) in Australia to launch the Dual Bachelor’s Degree Programme after successfully launched the Dual Master’s Degree Programme in 2022, offering students diversified further study pathways and enriching international learning opportunities. The first cohort of this programme has departed for Australia to commence their studies at UQ.


Registration Opening for “Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management Workshop (2026)”

In order to raise the awareness of computer security and strengthen the ability to identify computer risks for workers from corporate offices in Macao,the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT)will organize the “Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management Workshop (2026)”, which will take place on 19th September, 2026 at the Auditorium of Macao Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre. Through the workshop, participants will master the techniques for identifying cybersecurity vulnerabilities, assessment criteria and remediation methods, thereby improving the cybersecurity defense level of companies or institutions and reducing the occurrence of cyberattack incidents. The course is free and has 50 seats.

Due to rainstorm, by regulation, educational activities of secondary education are suspended this morning, while educational activities of primary, pre-primary and special education are suspended for the whole day. Schools should arrange for staff to take care of students who have already arrived at school for activities, until conditions are safe for them to return home.


Women's Volleyball Nations League – Finals Macao 2026 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group – Türkiye triumph as VNL champions

Organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Galaxy Entertainment Group and the Volleyball Association of Macao, China, Women’s Volleyball Nations League – Finals Macao 2026 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group was wrapped up today (26 July) at the Macau East Asian Games Dome. A 3–1 victory over Brazil earned Türkiye the championship of women’s VNL 2026, while Italy outplayed China 3–1 to claim third.


Children’s arts exhibition “Echo the Wind Wanderer” inaugurated taking the public into a fantastic and endearing parallel world

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from Portuguese acronym), the 3rd Macao International Children’s Arts Festival is currently being held, offering a diverse array of cultural and artistic activities and bringing children, youth and families close to the arts. The exhibition of this edition of Children’s Arts Festival “Echo the Wind Wanderer” was inaugurated today (July 26) at the Macao Museum of Art and MGM Cotai’s Lion Lobby, respectively. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Acting President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Mok Chi Hang; the Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing of MGM, Catarina Lio; the Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes; the Director of the Social Welfare Bureau, Hon Wai; the Acting Member of the Administration Committee on Municipal Affairs of the Municipal Affairs Bureau, Ho Man Him; the Assistant Chief Executive of the Bank of China (Macau), Ngan Iek Hang; the General Manager of Marketing of Air Macau Company Limited, Un Lap Man; the Group Marketing Executive Director of Macau Coca-Cola Macau Limited, Sonia Vong; the curator of the exhibition, Zhang Qianyuan; and the artist Ekokaxi Wang.
