The “Entrepreneurs Meeting for Commercial and Economic Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries - Malabo - 2025” was held in Equatorial Guinea on 29 July local time, with the theme of “Industrialisation Promotes Agricultural Development” and brought together 500 political and business representatives from Chinese mainland, Portuguese-speaking Countries and Macao-Hengqin. It should be noted that Macao Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) organised a 40-member delegation to participate in the Meeting, which comprises entrepreneurs and representatives from the economic and trade sectors of Chinese mainland and Macao-Hengqin, engaged in trade, finance, cross-border e-commerce, agriculture, big health, medical technology, professional services and tourism.

The “2^nd Galaxy Entertainment Group Macao International Shorts Film Festival” (hereinafter referred to as the “GEG Macao International Shorts Film Festival”), jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and the Galaxy Entertainment Group, has established a partnership with the “Giornate degli Autori” (Venice Days), a prestigious sidebar of the Venice International Film Festival. As part of this collaboration, a “Macao Day” event series will be held in Venice, Italy, in August. This partnership aims to elevate the international profile of the “GEG Macao International Shorts Film Festival”, infuse new vitality into Macao’s film culture, expand its global reach, and highlight the city’s distinctive appeal as a Culture City of East Asia.

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will set up temporary collection points for large unwanted furniture items in multiple locations across Macao from 1 to 7 August between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The number of collection points this year will increase from the original 60 to 136, with 109 collection points on the Macao Peninsula, 16 in Taipa and 11 in Coloane respectively.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that licensed motor vehicles in Macao totalled 253,089 as at the end of the first half of 2025, up by 1.0% year-on-year. In the first half year, cross-border vehicular traffic (5,302,937 trips) grew by 23.2% year-on-year, whereas passenger ferry trips (39,408 trips) and arriving and departing commercial flights at the Macau International Airport (26,884 trips) dropped by 1.4% and 3.2% respectively. As at the end of the first half year, number of mobile phone subscribers (1,482,929) and internet subscribers (779,317) showed respective growth of 4.5% and 4.9% year-on-year.

Chikungunya fever is transmitted by Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. It does not spread directly from person to person. Clinical manifestations primarily include fever, rash, and severe joint pain (often affecting the small joints of the wrists, knees, ankles, and fingers). Chikungunya fever usually lasts for 5 to 7 days. While symptoms are mild in most cases, some infected persons may experience persistent joint pain for 2 to 3 months. If symptoms occur, medical attention should be sought immediately.
