Eligible Applicants Required by MUR to Complete Home Swap Housing Purchase Procedures within Stipulated Deadline

In accordance with Chief Executive Dispatch No. 248/2025, applicants who meet the conditions stipulated in paragraph 2 of Article 12 of Law No. 8/2019 and whose applications to purchase home swap housing have been accepted by Macau Urban Renewal Limited (MUR) in accordance with Chief Executive Dispatch No. 89/2019 shall, within sixty days of the effective date of the aforementioned Dispatch (i.e. by 30 January 2026), make payment to MUR of the sale price for the relevant independent units and sign the notarial deed of sale and purchase for the units. Failure to complete the procedures as mentioned above by the deadline shall result in the forfeiture of eligibility to purchase home swap housing.



Macao Reading Festival 2025 inaugurates on Friday at Taipa Houses featuring diverse reading activities for three consecutive days

In order to enrich the cultural connotation of the community and contribute to the development of Macao as a “City of Reading”, the Macao Reading Festival 2025 (hereinafter referred to as “Reading Festival”), organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), will be inaugurated on 5 December (Friday), at 5pm, at the Taipa Houses. Themed “Reading Vacation”, the event will be held from 5 to 7 December for three consecutive days, featuring the “Outdoor Library”, the “Art and Cultural Book Fair”, the “Sky Cinema”, the “Café and Cultural and Creative Market”, performances and game booths. The Reading Festival not only incorporates elements of the 15th National Games and the National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the National Special Olympics Games, but also offers a weekend that combines reading, arts and leisure. Admission is free. Residents and tourists are welcome to participate.




Light up Macao 2025 will kick off this Saturday to spark momentum for nighttime tourism economy

Organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the international light art event “Light up Macao 2025” will be unveiled splendidly this Saturday (6 December). Themed as “Lightscape•Horizon”, Light up Macao 2025 (the “Event”) will dazzle Nam Van District, Northern District and ZAPE District with a total of 28 installation sets. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily between 6 December 2025 and 11 January 2026, an immersive feast of light artistry at night will spark an impetus for community tourism and nighttime economy, enriching what the city has to offer as a world centre of tourism and leisure.



UTM and SEG Hold MOU Signing Ceremony on Cooperation in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin

On 3 December 2025, the Macao University of Tourism (UTM) and the Swiss Education Group (SEG) held a MOU signing ceremony on Cooperation in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, establishing the Macao University of Tourism - César Ritz Colleges Switzerland Centre for Innovative Talent Development (abbreviated as “UTM-CRCS Centre for Innovative Talent Development”). The Centre is an independent academic unit newly established within the UTM organisational structure. Building on existing cooperation, it will further expand collaboration with SEG-affiliated institutions, jointly nurturing international talent, with plans to extend some programmes to the Cooperation Zone.


2025 Macau International Kart Grand Prix to be held this and next week

The 2025 Macau International Kart Grand Prix, organized by the Sports Bureau, the Automobile General Association Macao-China (AAMC), OTK Kart Asia and IAME Asia, and sponsored by Sands China Limited, will take place from December 4 to 7 (Thursday to Sunday this week) and from December 10 to 14 (Wednesday to Sunday next week) at the Coloane Karting Track.


UM Centre for Macau Studies holds Annual Conference of Macao Studies

The Centre for Macau Studies (CMS) of the University of Macau (UM) and the Macao Foundation jointly held the Fifth Annual Conference of Macao Studies (2025). Under the theme ‘Macao as a World Heritage Site’, the two-day conference brought together scholars from Macao and around the world to discuss Macao’s history and culture.
