23rd Macao City Fringe Festival Art Around Every Corner

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 23rd Macao City Fringe Festival will be held from 5 to 28 September. Aimed to take the public on a “leisurely stroll around the city”, the Fringe Festival this year will stage 18 extraordinary programmes and 13 outreach activities, transforming ordinary streets into vibrant stages and leading the audience to wander through the city’s corners, thus allowing art unfolds with every step.





Wages of construction workers and prices of construction materials for the second quarter of 2025

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that, after discounting the effect of inflation, the real wage index of construction workers decreased by 1.9% quarter-on-quarter in the second quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, the price index of construction materials for residential buildings went down by 0.5%.



UM hosts summer camp to offer academic and cultural experience in Macao

The Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) at the University of Macau (UM) hosted the FSS Summer Camp for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The camp provided outstanding students from a number of leading universities with an immersive academic and cultural experience in Macao.


“Hong Kong-Macao Visual Art Biennale” held in Guangzhou after Beijing leg

Organised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, and the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, and presented by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, and the China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd., the “Hong Kong-Macao Visual Art Biennale” is open at the Art Museum of the Guangzhou Painting Academy from 26 July to 15 August. The opening ceremony was held on the evening of 25 July, with the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s Acting Vice President, Sou Kin Meng, alongside Macao participating artists Lou Kam Ieng, Ng Seng Kei, Sit Ka Kit, and others, in attendance.


IPIM Visits the Macao Chamber of Commerce to Discuss Macao’s Economic Development

President of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) Che Weng Keong led a delegation from IPIM to visit the Macao Chamber of Commerce recently. During the visit, they introduced the key work plans for the second half of the year, listened to the chamber’s opinions, and engaged in discussions regarding industrial co-operation to jointly explore and discuss the economic development of Macao.


MGTO attends 65th APEC Tourism Working Group Meeting in Korea

On behalf of Macao, China, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) attended the65thAsia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Tourism Working Group Meeting, held in Korea from 29 to 31 July. During the meeting, MGTO presented Macao’s work to foster its development as a world centre of tourism and leisure through the sectors of “tourism +” and exchanged ideas with representatives of APEC’s member economies on the outlook of tourism, which elevated Macao’s influence and engagement with international tourism organizations.
