Service Coverage
Visitors who are not exempted from a visa or entry permit and do not wish to apply for an entry permit (aka “visa-upon-arrival”) at the moment they arrive at Macao may appoint a representative to apply to the Immigration Department in advance for “Authorization to Enter and Stay” if no Chinese consulate/embassy or diplomatic representation is located at their place of residence for pre-arrival visa application.
Target Groups and Application Eligibility
Visitors who are not exempted from a visa or entry permit. Starting from 29 January 2019, the people of Nepal, Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Vietnam may authorize Note 1 somebody to apply to the Residence and Stay Affairs Department for Authorization to Enter and Stay only if they meet either one of the following requirements:
1.The applicant is in Mainland China or living in a place where there is no Chinese diplomatic mission;
2.The applicant has any of the following family members working or living in Macao (proof of kindred is required):
(1)Spouse;
(2)First and second degree of lineal relatives by blood or marriage (including parents, spouse’s parents, children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, maternal or paternal grandparents, maternal or paternal grandchildren);
(3)Second degree of collateral relatives by blood or marriage (including siblings, siblings’ spouse, spouse’s siblings).
[Note 1: The applicant’s signature on the letter of authorization should be authenticated by the competent authorities of the country/region in which the applicant is staying.]
