In accordance with the provision of Decree Law No. 38/93/M of 26th July – the “Statute of Private Education Institutions”, revised by Decree Law No. 33/97/M of 11th August, a private education institution (hereinafter referred to as the “institution”) is a venue in which education and teaching in any form is carried out and the venue belongs to a private entity. The “institution” can be for-profit or non-profit and it can enjoy teaching, administrative and financial autonomy.
Any natural persons, legal persons of non-public law and religious organisations conforming to the requirements set by the Statute are permitted to establish the “institution”.
According to the types of education activities stated on the application form, if the “institution” is proved to conform to the requirements of the Statute and possess the requirements and conditions needed for normal operation after review and approval, the school licence will be issued.
