Since the "Combating Human Trafficking Law" came into effect in June 2008, the Government carried out a series of efforts to combat and prevent human trafficking crimes based on the 4P Approach: prevention, protection, prosecution and partnership. In addition to combating sexual exploitation, work groups are also set up to work on combating forced labor and trafficking of human organs. Efforts including identifying victims, training and prevention are carried out in order to prevent victims from being trafficked. A human trafficking case was tried in court in March this year, in which 7 perpetrators were prosecuted and were sentenced to 12 years and 9 months to 13 years and 3 months imprisonment. Human trafficking is a transnational crime which violates human rights. In order to deter such crimes, cooperation of the society and commitment of the government are both necessary. In the future, the Human Trafficking Deterrent Measures Concern Committee will continue to work practically to prevent and fight against all kinds of trafficking in persons.
