For the approval of shops’ entitlement to the “Certified Shop” emblem, the Consumer Council continues to carry out patrol on its “Adherents” and “Certified Shops” and has completed over 1,000 patrols for the evaluation of shops.
Local retail shops are welcome to join the mediation and arbitration mechanism as “Adherents”. “Certified Shop” entitlement is awarded to “Adherents” that pass the evaluation and meet the required standard after joining the mechanism for 12 months.
“Certified Shops” are monitored by the Consumer Council and shops are evaluated on an irregular basis to ensure that they follow the “Undertakings of Certified Shops”. “Certified Shops” are also offered training to ensure they are able to offer quality service to consumers.
The Council has completed over 1,000 patrols on “Adherents” and “Certified Shops during the first five months of this year, all shops are urged to abide by the regulations and evaluation requirements of the “Certified Shop” mechanism. Any problems discovered during evaluation period may affect the shop’s entitlement to the “Certified Shop” emblem.
All documents to be submitted before 30 June
According to the regulations of the “Certified Shop” mechanism, all “Adherents” and “Certified Shops” are required to submit their Business Tax – Tax Demand Note (M/8) copy of 2021 before 30 June to maintain their entitlement to the “Certified Shop” emblem.
Reminder letters have been sent to all “Adherents” and “Certified Shops” about the submission of M/8 form before 30 June. Shops that intend to submit the form should submit to the Council’s office at Horta e Costa, e-mail via email@example.com, or fax via 2897 4400. Otherwise, entitlement to the emblem may be affected.
The Council also offers convenient service to businesses, business owners may grant their authorization to the Council for fetching M/8 form on behalf of the shops when applying to become “Adherents”.
