Worn out ground surface in ball court
Since the end of last year, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has carried out renovation works successively in several free sports grounds under its management as they had suffered from wear and tear and the facilities had deteriorated. The last phase of the works involves four free sports grounds, which will be temporarily closed in stages from October onwards. The public are reminded to pay attention to the arrangement. The works period of each free sports ground lasts about 30 days. The works will be launched in phases to avoid multiple venues being simultaneously closed for the works, allowing the public to choose to do their activities in other free sports grounds.
The free sports grounds to be renovated include Free Sports Ground in Avenida Panorâmica do Lago Sai Van, Free Sports Ground in Almirante Magalhães Correia, Free Sports Ground in Central da Taipa Park and Free Sports Ground of Edifício do Lago. The works will involve the repair of the crevices on the ground surface of the ball courts, repainting of the coatings and court markings, replacement of the backboards and rims in basketball courts, etc. Upon completion, the public can be provided with recreational and sports facilities of higher quality and an enhanced user experience. IAM reminds the public that they should refrain from entering the construction area during the works period to avoid accidents.
