The “Macao International Trade and Investment Fair” (MIF), being the annual international event, will be held on 21 to 24 October 2010. Since 2008, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute has joined hands with numerous entities and business associations from mainland China, overseas and Macau to organize the “SME International Business Days” concurrently with MIF, enabling SMEs to take full advantage of the business opportunities presented in the MIF international platform. To sustain the mission of assisting SMEs to open up client network and broaden business opportunities through the MIF international platform, the “SME International Business Days” this year comprises three theme elements: SME Service Corner to provide multi-dimensional enquiry and information services, E-commerce and Franchising promotional activities. Three themed pillars to help SMEs obtain information, seek partners and exploit business opportunities u SME Local and Mainland China Business Enquiry Services
The debut SME Service Corner inside the Macao Pavilion demonstrates the brand new service concept and image of SME Service Center and highlights its mission - “Take Service as a fundamental and SME as a Priority”, while taking advantage of MIF to foster exchanges among SMEs. Staff of SME Service Center will provide a wide array of information and enquiry services: including “One-Stop Service” enquiry on Macau and Mainland China (include consultancy services provided by China business advisor, Zhuhai and Jiangmen representatives), exhibition incentives, SME business promotion package and E-commerce Promotion Incentives. u Franchising Business Opportunities
With the successful close of “Macao Franchise Expo 2010” (2010 MFE) and the increasing popularity of franchising businesses, the SME Day this year has increased its effort on encouraging SMEs to open up franchising and brand licensing market with a series of franchise-themed activities. Franchise oftentimes remains a common strategy for retail, food and beverages, as well as service industries to expand in many countries and regions around the world. The concept of franchising lies in its low cost and rapid expansion strategy, at the same time provides systematic operation and management essentials as well as brand assurance for franchisees. Its mode of operation is suitable for business starters and SMEs seeking business transformation. The “Franchise Catalogue Show” will showcase information of franchise brands and supplementary services from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, United States, Malaysia and other countries; representatives of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau franchise associations will provide consultancy services to help SMEs obtain franchise industry trends and business opportunities. u E-Commerce Business Platform
This series of E-commerce promotional activities include seminars organized by Alibaba Hong Kong, eBay Hong Kong Limited, Macao Post eSign Trust Certification Services and Directel Macau Ltd.
