The Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region is ready to submit the second periodic report pursuant to the provisions of the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (hereinafter referred to as the Convention), and the stated report will be incorporated into the sixth report submitted to the Committee Against Torture by the People's Republic of China pursuant to the provisions of the Convention. The content of the second periodic report mainly includes the relevant information of the latest development of the implementation of the Convention since the period of coverage of the first report submitted in 2004 and the responses to the things to note and suggestions raised by the Committee Against Torture during its delivery of concluding observations in 2008.
