IFTM students supporting the development of egg waffle vending machine

This year, Tourism Retail and Marketing Management students from the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies engaged in a project to aid mbox co. Limited and Robi3 Macau co. Limited who specialise in smart vending machine. The project was to aid the development of their first vending machine that makes and sell egg waffle. This project was initially introduced in the classroom and later completed via virtual methods due to the Covid-19 pandemic.


MPI Council Conveys Spirit of Two Sessions 2020 Encourages Peers to Love Motherland and Love Macao

Last week, the third plenary sessionof the13th National People’s Congress (NPC) held concurrently with theChinese People’sPolitical Consultative Conference (CPPCC) concluded successfully in Beijing. Having attended the events, President Lei Heong Iok and Vice-President Lok Po of the Council of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) shared the spirit of the Two Sessions 2020 with all MPI peers and encouraged love for the motherland and love for Macao.


MPI, GDUFS and HKUSPACE Jointly Establish “Greater Bay Area Portuguese Language Education Alliance”

Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), and the School of Professional and Continuing Education, University of Hong Kong (HKUSPACE) gathered online in the morning of June 8 and signed an agreement to establish the “Greater Bay Area Portuguese Language Education Alliance”. The establishment of the Alliance aims to further implement the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” to promote development and cooperation in the education and curriculum of the three regions and to foster the integration, innovation, sharing and development of Portuguese language education via the exchange of teachers and students, the organization of joint academic seminars and academic competitions, and the deepening of cooperation and development in research projects of various aspects.



Commissioning home-grown projects CCM ‘invests’ 3 million in local arts

In its constant bid to dynamically interact with the local arts scene, the Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is supporting the development of local productions, in both the audio-visual and the performing arts fields. With a budget topping MOP 3,200,000 these commissioning projects provide a platform for some of the city’s most prolific creators.

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that an additional new stamp theme will be included on the Issues Plan 2020: “Fight Against the Epidemic Together” to be issued on 24th June 2020.



UM students win first prize at 2020 Bank of China Trophy One Million Dollar Macao Regional Entrepreneurship Competition

Two teams formed by University of Macau (UM) students, namely ‘2048 (Macau) Limited’ and ‘An Information Database for Enterprises Based on Natural Language Processing’, recently won the first prize and the third prize, respectively, at the 2020 Bank of China Trophy One Million Dollar Macao Regional Entrepreneurship Competition. Because of the novel coronavirus outbreak, the final stage of the competition was held on the internet. A team named ‘Colorful City’ from the Macau University of Science and Technology won the second prize. The winning teams will represent Macao in the Grand Final of the One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition.


New space of the Central Book Stack of the Macao Public Library under the Cultural Affairs Bureau officially opened Retrieval services resumed

In order to optimise and consolidate the storage space of the Central Book Stack of the Macao Public Library under the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), the Central Book Stack, originally located in Edifício Industrial Tong Lei on Avenida do Almirante Lacerda, has been relocated to the Multifunctional Government Building on Lot O1 in Pac On, Taipa. The new space of the Central Book Stack will be officially opened on 08 June (Monday), and the retrieval services for books and audio-visual materials will resume. Residents can make reservations through the library website or the mobile application and collect the reserved items at the selected library.


Residential property price index for February – April 2020

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for February - April 2020 decreased by 0.5% over the previous period (January - March 2020) to 262.8. The indices for the Macao Peninsula (264.1) and Taipa & Coloane (257.3) dropped by 0.6% and 0.1% respectively.
