DSES Cancels or Postpones Activities in February

In response to the current outbreak of the novel coronavirus, the Higher Education Bureau (DSES) will cancel the ‘2019/2020 Macau Higher Education Institute Basketball Competition’ and ‘2019/2020 Macau Higher Education Institute Badminton Competition’; ‘The Phase I: Basic Course in Portuguese(Lunar New Year Class)’ originally scheduled to be held on February 3 will be postponed until further notice. The Higher Education Bureau (DSES) will keep paying close attention to the situation and make proper arrangements promptly.


CCAC’s Report Hotline remains normal service

In order to prevent mass gathering and minimise the risk of virus spread, the Branch Offices of the Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) will be closed on 30th and 31st January (Thursday and Friday). For reports and complaints over corruption and public services, please call the CCAC’s Report Hotline at 2836 1212.


The Social Welfare Bureau will have methadone treatment services available on Thursday and Friday of this week

​In response to the further development of the new coronavirus epidemic, Public Administration and Civil Service workers, by order of the Chief Executive No. 10 / EC / 2020, will be exempted from work on the 30th and 31st of January 2020. Please be informed that the Areia Preta Drug Treatment Centre (Methadone) and the Carmo, Taipa Drug Treatment Centre (Methadone), both subordinated to the Social Welfare Bureau(SWB), will remain open for the provision of the service, in the two days referred to above, but the other relevant centers will be temporarily suspending the provision of services .

The application deadline for Lifelong Learning Award Scheme is extended to 7th February



DSEJ COOPERATES WITH SCHOOLS TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ARRANGEMENTS FOR STUDENTS TO STUDY AT HOME DURING CLASS SUSPENSION

Due to the novel coronavirus epidemic situation, class resumption date of schools of non-tertiary education in Macao will be postponed to 10th February, 2020 (Monday) or later. To ensure that learning will be continue while classes are suspended, and students are able to continue to carry out appropriate learning activities during the period of class suspension as well as to make good preparations for class resumption, the DSEJ has informed schools to make appropriate arrangements for students to study at home, urge students to stay at home to study and avoid going to crowded places.


Applications for advance booking for inspection of food products of IAM to be moved to new wholesale market for processing

In accordance with Chief Executive Writ of Instruction no. 487/2016, advance booking for import inspection of the products listed in Annex 3 of the mentioned Writ of Instruction is required to be made to competent authorities. In regard to applications for advance booking for inspection of food products, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will move the locations for applications from the original Integrated Services Centre in China Plaza, Macao Government Services Centre in Islands and Northern District Public Services Centre to the inspection office of IAM on the 5th floor of the new wholesale market in Avenida do Parque Industrial in Macao on 30 and 31 January, so as to continue to receive applications from the trade.


Social Welfare Bureau Website Announces Operational Arrangements for Subsidized Social Service Facilities

In response to the further development of the new coronavirus epidemic, Social Welfare Bureau has required all social service facilities to strictly implement all epidemic prevention measures guided by Health Bureau and Social Welfare Bureau, and has coordinated various funded social service facilities / service plans to respond to their service nature. Corresponding operational arrangements will be made from January 28 to February 10, 2020:


Due to New Coronavirus Outbreak, FSS Contribution Period Extended to the End of February

In response to the new coronavirus outbreak, the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) announced that it would extend the payment period of the contributions, and the employment fee for non-resident workers to 28th February and exempt any late payment interest and fines. Beneficiaries of old-age and disability pension can provide the proof of life by the end of March, and this will not affect their benefit payment of April. The FSS calls on residents to make enquiries and apply for various social security services by electronic means to avoid crowds and protect residents’ health.


IAM Building closed to public temporarily

Please be noted that as part of the preventive and control measures in response to the novel coronavirus, the IAM Building, including the Entrance Hall, Garden and Grand Hall, will be temporarily closed to the public from tomorrow (29 January) until further notice.
