UM teams advance to grand final of One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition after winning top 3 prizes in Macao regional competition

Three teams from the University of Macau (UM), namely Zhuhai Digifluidic Bio-Technology Limited, MBMC AI SOC Team, and TMASS Technology Company Limited, recently won the first, second, and third prizes, respectively, in the Bank of China Trophy One Million Dollar Macao Regional Entrepreneurship Competition 2019. The winning teams will represent Macao in the grand final.


CE highlights during Beijing forum strength of Macao’s roles in ‘Belt and Road’ initiative

The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, today highlighted the depth of Macao’s strength at boosting people-to-people exchanges; a way of contributing to development of the country’s “Belt and Road” initiative.


UM student builds light delta-wing aircraft

Huber Hu, a fourth-year student in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), University of Macau (UM), along with several other students, successfully built his first light delta-wing aircraft and completed a test flight himself. As China is gradually opening up its lower altitude airspace for civilian use, Hu believes light delta-wing aircrafts have huge potential on the mainland market and he hopes to develop aircrafts that are safer, more reliable, and more affordable than models that are currently available on the market. Hu adds that this aircraft can be remodeled into an unmanned aircraft for short-distance drone deliveries.






Announcement of the 37th Macao Young Musicians Competition schedule

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the 37th Macao Young Musicians Competition, dedicated to the category of piano, will start on 19 July (Friday). The provisional Competition Schedule and the model of piano used for the Competition were published in the Macao Young Musicians Competition’s website (www.icm.gov.mo/cjmm).


Exhibition on ‘Macao’s Role in the Spread of Western Printing Technology across the East’ to be held in May

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Macao SAR, the Macao Public Library of the Cultural Affairs Bureau will host an exhibition on ‘Macao’s Role in the Spread of Western Printing Technology across the East’ at the Senado Library (Municipal Affairs Bureau Building, No. 163, Av. de Almeida Ribeiro) from 18 May to 15 June this year, including a lecture and a guided tour to be held at 3pm on 18 May as well. The activities will be conducted in Cantonese and admission is free for all who wish to participate.
