MPI-APQN Organise the 9th Higher Education International Conference on The New Developments of Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance

To strengthen the higher education cooperation between Macao and overseas higher education institutions, Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) and Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) jointly organised the 9th Higher Education International Conference on The New Developments of Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance, held on 22-23 November at MPI. More than 30 renowned experts and scholars from the United Kingdom, Portugal, Ireland, Japan, Mauritius, Vietnam, Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao gathered in Macao to discuss the various factors affecting the quality of teaching and learning and to present the latest innovations and frontier developments of quality assurance. In total, more than 100 representatives from higher education institutions participated in the conference. The participants shared their academic experience and found the conference a very fruitful one.


UM scholars’ paper on blended learning receives first prize

A paper titled ‘Dance Teaching on Mobiles’, jointly written by Li Zihao and Lei Si Man, two assistant professors from the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Education, recently received a first prize at the annual assembly of the Chinese Association for Educational Technology - Sports Professional Committee (CAET – SPC).

Macau International Airport concluded its full scale emergency exercise in a smooth manner

Macau International Airport conducted the full scale emergency exercise early this morning (24 November 2017) to simulate an aircraft accident with the aircraft wings and the engines crashing with the runway upon landing. The accident eventually led to a fire. The airport emergency plan was immediately activated to resolve the crisis. The exercise was concluded in a smooth manner and achieved its goal.



UM students win third prize at 11th National Structure Design Contest for College Students

Three students from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), University of Macau (UM), recently won a third prize at the 11th National Structure Design Contest for College Students held in Wuhan.
