UM professor receives Outstanding Young Author Award from IEEE

Assistant Professor Lu Yan from the University of Macau (UM) State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI (AMSV) received the 2017 Outstanding Young Author Award from the Circuits and Systems (CAS) Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), for his paper titled ‘A Fully-Integrated Low-Dropout Regulator with Full-Spectrum Power Supply Rejection’. This is the second time that a professor from the laboratory has received the award, showing that UM is now in a leading position in the world in microelectronics research.

For the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June, Consumer Council collected prices of fresh pork from wet markets and supermarkets on 4 July for consumers’ reference. Cash Withdrawals at ATMs without KYC Function Are Suspended for Mainland CUP Cards whereas Macao Residents and Holders of Cards Issued by Banks of Other Jurisdictions Are Unaffected

To protect the legal interests of financial institutions and Mainland China Union Pay (CUP) cardholders, as well as to ensure the effectiveness of the measure to monitor ATM cash withdrawals by Mainland CUP cards, starting tomorrow (4 July), the Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) is requesting those ATMs without “Know-Your-Customer (KYC)” techniques installed to suspend cash withdrawals services for Mainland CUP cards. Relevant services will be resumed as soon as the KYC function is installed. Holders of Mainland CUP cards can carry out cash withdrawals through ATMs with “KYC ATM” logo whereas Macao residents and holders of cards issued by banks of other jurisdictions are not affected.

AACM approves 142 extra and charter flights to meet the demand for travel in summer vacation

In July and August every year, the number of passengers travelling via Macau international Airport is expected to rise. To cater for the demand for travel of both Macao residents and tourists who take Macao as a transit point to travel to other places, the Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR (AACM) has so far approved 142 extra and charter flights for this summer vacation which are destined to mainland China, Taiwan China, Thailand, Republic of Korea and Japan.
